Marketing & Communications Associate - Founder's Office

Bengaluru-based space-tech startup revolutionizing satellite communications through laser communication systems. We deliver faster data transmission for small satellites, defense, and terrestrial applications. Customers include ISRO, Indian Navy, and commercial operators.

Recognition:

The Role

First marketing hire building the function from ground up. Work directly with leadership in Founder's Office on strategic initiatives. Gain exposure to operations and people management for comprehensive startup experience.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing & Brand Leadership (70%)

Digital, Content & Brand

  • Own website, content calendar, and multi-channel execution (blogs, case studies, videos, white papers, infographics, email campaigns, social media)
  • Create sales enablement materials: pitch decks, brochures, datasheets, battle cards, FAQs
  • Develop and maintain brand guidelines, visual identity, marketing collateral, and asset library
  • Track analytics, implement SEO, and optimize conversion funnels
  • Coordinate with external designers and agencies

Events & Industry Engagement

  • Plan and execute annual conferences : booth design, collateral, demos, logistics, lead capture, ROI tracking
  • Organize customer visits, demo days, investor meetings, partner workshops
  • Secure speaking opportunities and manage event budgets

PR & Thought Leadership

  • Execute PR strategy: media outreach, press releases, journalist relationships, bylined articles, op-eds
  • Position founders as innovators through media placements, speaking opportunities, and award submissions
  • Build relationships with aerospace/defense media and industry analysts
  • Monitor coverage and coordinate interviews

Customer Marketing & Partnerships

  • Develop customer success stories, testimonials, and reference programs
  • Execute co-marketing with partners: joint webinars, white papers, case studies
  • Support customer communications: product updates, documentation, release notes

Market Intelligence & Performance

  • Monitor industry trends, conduct competitive analysis, and prepare quarterly intelligence reports
  • Gather customer insights through surveys and feedback
  • Establish KPIs, implement marketing automation, track ROI, and prepare monthly performance reports
  • Execute LinkedIn/Google advertising and demand generation campaigns with lead scoring

Strategic Operations (20%)

  • Support COO tracking projects across engineering, sales, partnerships
  • Prepare board presentations, investor updates, quarterly business reviews
  • Create pitch materials and RFP responses for business development
  • Coordinate customer visits and manage CRM data quality
  • Assist with market sizing, go-to-market planning, and partnership research
  • Support special projects from Founders Office

HR & People Support (10%)

  • Assist with job descriptions, postings, interview coordination, campus recruitment
  • Support team-building, town halls, internal communications, and onboarding
  • Contribute to culture initiatives and employee recognition programs
  • Coordinate with HR vendors on administrative needs

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's in Marketing, Communications, or Business
  • 2-5 years in marketing, brand management, or PR; B2B tech/startup experience preferred
  • Portfolio demonstrating campaigns, content, or events

Core Skills

  • Exceptional writing/editing; ability to simplify technical concepts
  • Exceptional PowerPoint skills
  • Hands-on experience: website management, social media, email marketing, SEO/SEM
  • Design tools (Canva, Adobe) or ability to brief designers
  • Project management with strong attention to detail
  • Event planning experience
