1. Role Objective

To manage, monitor, and optimize logistics cost control, freight operations, vendor payments, and depot activities across Amrit Cement’s logistics network. The Manager (Logistics Controller) will ensure accuracy in freight billing, compliance with logistics SOPs, and timely vendor settlements while driving data-based decision-making through SAP and Super Procure systems. The role is critical for ensuring cost efficiency, vendor relationship management, and smooth end-to-end logistics control across all regions.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Logistics Cost & Freight Management

• Verify and book all logistics-related costs including freight, loading, and unloading.
• Conduct freight bill checking, clearing, and accounting to ensure accurate cost control.
• Monitor and validate freight payments in coordination with Finance and Regional Offices.
• Ensure alignment of freight rates with approved policies and negotiate cost reduction opportunities.

B. Vendor Management & Ageing Control

• Track vendor ageing reports and follow up for timely settlement of dues.
• Maintain cordial vendor relations through proactive coordination and dispute resolution.
• Review and validate contracts, agreements, and vendor billing compliance.
• Ensure accurate reconciliation of vendor accounts across plants, depots, and regional offices.

C. System Review & Data Optimization

• Regularly review

  systems for data accuracy and performance tracking.
• Analyze freight data (backloading, distance, and destination optimization) to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Coordinate with IT and operations for automation of logistics data reporting.
• Generate freight and trip-level analytics reports for management decision-making.

D. GPS & Delivery Monitoring

• Analyze GPS data to verify trip completion, delivery destination accuracy, and turnaround time.
• Monitor transporter performance metrics and identify delays or route deviations.
• Coordinate with dispatch and depot teams to ensure timely delivery and POD closure.

E. Compliance & SOP Monitoring

• Ensure strict adherence to logistics SOPs, policies, and statutory requirements.
• Conduct periodic audits of dispatch, billing, and stock records.
• Monitor monthly average lead distance, cost metrics, and performance trends.
• Coordinate with internal auditors to ensure zero non-compliance in freight processes.

F. Depot Stock Verification & Godown Management

• Conduct periodic physical verification of stock at depots and reconcile with SAP data.
• Track differences in physical vs. system stock and ensure timely resolution.
• Oversee godown upkeep, damaged stock disposal, and hygiene standards.
• Ensure warehouse adherence to FIFO and compliance protocols.

G. Team Coordination & Reporting

• Supervise a team of logistics executives and depot controllers.
• Prepare monthly MIS, KPI dashboards, and performance variance reports.
• Support management in cost budgeting, forecasting, and review meetings.

5. Qualification & Experience

• Education:

  M.Com / CA (Inter)

• Experience:

  Minimum

  14+ years

  in logistics, cost control, and vendor management (preferably in

  cement or manufacturing industry

  ).
• Strong working knowledge of

  SAP, Super Procure

  Excel-based MIS systems

  .
• Exposure to

  freight analytics, depot stock management, and SOP audits
