Job Title: Maintenance Manager – Solar Panel Manufacturing

Location: Pune Chakan

Experience: 7–12 years in equipment maintenance, preferably in solar manufacturing

1.     Maintenance Strategy & Execution Leadership

·       Define and implement long-term preventive, predictive, and reliability-centred maintenance strategies for all solar module manufacturing equipment (stringers, laminators, auto bussing/tapping units, framing lines, etc.).

·       Ensure zero major breakdowns and minimum equipment downtime through structured maintenance planning and monitoring.

Team Development & Performance Management

·       Lead, mentor, and manage a team of maintenance engineers and technicians across all shifts.

·       Conduct regular performance reviews, identify skill gaps, and implement training programs to build a highly capable maintenance workforce.

3.     Plant Uptime & Asset Reliability Ownership

·       Drive improvements in key performance metrics such as equipment uptime, MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures), MTTR (Mean Time to Repair), and OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).

·       Implement industry best practices in reliability engineering and condition-based monitoring.

4.     Automation, Control Systems & Troubleshooting Oversight

·       Supervise troubleshooting of complex systems including PLCs, servo drives, hydraulic/pneumatic circuits, and SCADA systems.

·       Support the team in identifying root causes and driving permanent solutions for critical equipment failures.

5.     Project Management & Equipment Commissioning

·       Lead maintenance involvement in new line installations, equipment upgrades, and plant expansion projects.

·       Coordinate with OEMs (including Chinese equipment suppliers), vendors, and cross-functional teams for successful commissioning.

6.     Budgeting, Spare Parts & Cost Optimization

·       Prepare and manage annual maintenance budgets; ensure cost-effective operations without compromising quality or safety.

·       Optimize spare part inventory levels and vendor contracts including AMCs and service support.

7.     Compliance, Safety & Audit Readiness

·       Ensure 100% compliance with EHS norms, ISO standards (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001), and internal safety protocols.

·       Maintain audit-ready documentation and support external and internal audits related to maintenance activities.

8.     Cross-Functional Collaboration & Reporting

·       Work closely with production, quality, planning, procurement, and projects teams to address plant-wide challenges.

·       Present monthly maintenance KPIs, root-cause analysis reports, and improvement plans to senior management.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

·       B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics or related field.

·       8–12 years of experience in maintenance within solar module or electronics manufacturing industries; minimum 3 years in a managerial role.

·       Strong understanding of automated manufacturing lines, PLCs, drive systems, hydraulic/pneumatic equipment, and utility systems.

·       Excellent team leadership, problem-solving, vendor management, and communication skills.

• ·       Experience in handling Chinese OEM equipment and large-scale plant setups (800 MW to 3 GW) is highly desirable.
