Lead digital designer

You will be joining Aerpace Industries Limited, a company that engineers futuristic, intelligent EV mobility platforms with a focus on Surface & Class-A design for product quality, precision, and brand identity. As the Lead Automotive Surface & Class-A Designer at Aerpace, your role will involve a combination of leadership and hands-on Class-A surfacing. You will be responsible for owning exterior and interior surface quality, guiding digital sculpting teams, and ensuring the perfect translation of design intent into production-ready Class-A surfaces. Your key responsibilities will include: - Leading Class-A surfacing for exterior & interior components - Collaborating with design, engineering, and digital sculpting teams - Developing high-quality surfaces using Alias / ICEM Surf - Refining surfaces for manufacturability, feasibility & quality - Collaborating with studio engineers & clay modelers - Conducting surface reviews, highlight maps, quality scans - Ensuring surfaces align with Aerpace's design language & standards - Managing surfacing timelines and deliverables To qualify for this role, you should have: - 8+ years of Automotive Surface/Class-A experience - Expertise in Autodesk Alias or ICEM Surf (mandatory) - Strong understanding of automotive geometry & manufacturing - Experience working with design, studio engineering, CAD & clay - Ability to deliver production-ready Class-A surfaces - Strong knowledge of G2/G3 continuity & highlight behavior Preferred qualifications include EV platform experience, exterior + interior surfacing versatility, experience with rapid prototyping & VR/AR reviews, and an understanding of trims, lighting & body engineering constraints.
