Maintenance Engineer

1. Equipment Maintenance & Repair Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on machines, tools, and HVAC systems. Diagnose and troubleshoot breakdowns, malfunctions, and electrical/mechanical issues. Ensure timely repair to minimize downtime and maintain smooth production operations. 2. Maintenance Planning & Scheduling Develop and implement preventive maintenance (PM) schedules. Maintain maintenance logs, checklists, and records of work performed. Coordinate maintenance activities with production schedules to reduce disruptions. 3. Monitoring & Inspections Conduct routine inspections of equipment, utilities, and facilities. Monitor equipment performance, vibrations, temperatures, and efficiency. Identify early warning signs of failures and recommend corrective action. 4. Spare Parts & Inventory Management Maintain adequate stock of critical spare parts, consumables, and tools. Coordinate with stores/procurement for timely availability of parts. Track spare usage and control costs. 5. Safety, Compliance & Standards Ensure all equipment meets safety and regulatory compliance standards. Implement Lockout-Tagout (LOTO), fire safety, and hazard management procedures. Conduct safety audits and risk assessments. 6. Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate maintenance records, downtime reports, and root cause analysis (RCA). Prepare reports for management on maintenance activities, costs, and performance. Use CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) where applicable. 7. Project & Improvement Initiatives Support installation, commissioning, and testing of new machines and utilities. Recommend and implement improvements for efficiency, energy saving, and reliability. Participate in continuous improvement (Kaizen, TPM, 5S, Lean maintenance). 8. Team Coordination & Training Supervise maintenance technicians, fitters, and contract staff. Provide training to operators and technicians on safe machine operation and upkeep. Coordinate with production, quality, and safety departments. 9. Emergency Response Respond quickly to urgent breakdowns or service interruptions. Ensure contingency measures to keep critical operations running.
