Role Overview

As a Key Account Manager — Event Partnerships & Sponsorships, you will be responsible for

securing, managing, and growing strategic partnerships and sponsorship deals with clients, brands, and stakeholders in the events space. Your goal is to increase revenue and brand visibility by aligning Onextel’s strengths (brand communication, influencer marketing, social media, etc.) with event-based marketing opportunities. You will act as the primary liaison between Onextel and partner organisations (event managers, brands, media houses, etc.). Key


Responsibilities

Business Development & Partnerships

  • Identify, prospect, and initiate conversations with potential sponsors, brands, and event organisers (local, national, or industry-specific).
  • Develop and pitch partnership/sponsorship proposals that align with both clients’ goals and Onextel’s service offerings (communication, branding, influencer marketing, activation, digital promotions).
  • Negotiate commercial terms, contracts, deliverables, and revenue-sharing models.
  • Create and manage long-term relationships with key accounts (brands, media companies, event agencies) to ensure continuous collaboration.


Account Management & Execution


  • Serve as the main point of contact for partner accounts — ensure commitments are fulfilled (activation, deliverables, reporting).
  • Coordinate with internal teams (creative, digital, PR, influencer management, fulfilment) to ensure smooth delivery of the sponsoring brand’s presence in events.
  • Monitor execution (on-ground and digital) of sponsorship commitments — branding, media exposure, content, activations, etc.
  • Ensure partners receive agreed visibility, brand exposure, ROI, and measurement.


Strategy & Planning


  • Work with the leadership/strategy teams to define sponsorship & partnership frameworks, pricing models, and package structures.
  • Map out the events calendar and identify high-impact events (industry, regional, national).
  • Develop customised activation plans and value-add offerings to enhance the sponsorship proposition.
  • Use market research to spot opportunities, competitor activity, and trends in event sponsorship.


Financials & Reporting


  • Set and meet sponsorship revenue targets, margins, and forecast pipelines.
  • Create budgets, financial models, and ROI projections for each partnership.
  • Prepare periodic reports and dashboards for leadership showing performance of partnerships (exposure, conversions, uplift metrics).
  • Ensure timely invoicing, payment tracking, and financial reconciliation.



Required Skills & Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • 3–5 years of experience in account management, business development, or sponsorship/partnership sales — preferably in events, media, or marketing agencies.
  • A strong network in the events/media space is a plus.
  • Excellent negotiation, persuasion, and presentation skills.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to coordinate across cross-functional teams.
  • Analytical mindset — comfortable working with budgets, ROI metrics, and reports.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple accounts, and meet deadlines.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and result-oriented approach.


Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) / Metrics


  • Sponsorship/partnership revenue generated (monthly/quarterly/annual)
  • Number of new high-value partnerships signed.
  • Renewal/retention rate of key accounts
  • Activation delivery success/fulfilment rate.
  • ROI delivered to partners (visibility, leads, brand exposure)
  • Contribution to the overall company.
