Job Title: Key Account Manager (B2B - Wholesale Channel Sales)

Region: Kolkata and entire West Bengal

🎯 Role Overview

The Key Account Manager will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and expanding long-term strategic relationships with high-value wholesale channel partners (e.g., Distributors, Large Dealers, Aggregator , FMCG Exporter) across Delhi NCR and the state of Uttarakhand. This role is central to driving B2B revenue and market penetration by formulating and executing robust channel sales strategies.

🔑 Key Responsibilities

1. Channel Sales & Revenue Growth

  • Target Achievement:

    Exceed assigned sales targets for primary (sales to channel partner) and secondary (sales by channel partner to end-customer) revenue across the Delhi NCR and Uttarakhand territory.
  • Strategic Planning:

    Develop and execute comprehensive annual and quarterly business plans for each key channel partner, defining clear growth strategies, product focus, and market expansion.
  • New Channel Acquisition:

    Identify, evaluate, and onboard new high-potential wholesale partners (Distributors, Super Stockists, etc.) to expand market reach in both urban and rural markets, particularly in Uttarakhand.
  • Product Penetration:

    Drive the placement and sales of the company's full product portfolio within the key accounts and their respective downstream networks.

2. Relationship & Account Management

  • Partnership Management:

    Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for all key accounts, fostering strong, long-lasting, and mutually beneficial relationships at senior management levels.
  • Conflict Resolution:

    Proactively manage and resolve complex commercial issues, conflicts, and operational challenges between the company and its channel partners.
  • Performance Review:

    Conduct regular (monthly/quarterly) business reviews with partners, analyzing performance, market trends, and jointly developing corrective action plans where necessary.

3. Market & Commercial Operations

  • Commercial Negotiation:

    Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, schemes, and contracts with key accounts to ensure profitability, adherence to company policy, and competitive advantage.
  • Forecasting & Reporting:

    Provide accurate weekly/monthly sales forecasts, market intelligence, and pipeline reports using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
  • Supply Chain Coordination:

    Collaborate closely with the Supply Chain and Logistics teams to ensure timely order fulfillment, inventory management, and smooth product availability for key accounts.
  • Partner Enablement:

    Work with Marketing and Training teams to ensure channel partners are fully equipped with product knowledge, marketing materials, and sales tools.

🏅 Required Qualifications & Skills

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA is preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 5-8 years

    of progressive B2B sales experience, with

    at least 3 years

    in a dedicated Key Account Management or Channel Sales role.
  • Mandatory:

    Proven track record in managing

    Wholesale Channel Sales

    (Distributor/Dealer Network) for a product/industry in a multi-state region, preferably including experience in entire West Bengal Market
  • Demonstrated experience in

    achieving aggressive sales targets

    and managing a high-value key account portfolio.

Skills

  • Strategic Acumen:

    Strong ability to create and implement strategic, long-term account plans.
  • Negotiation & Closing:

    Exceptional negotiation, presentation, and complex contract closing skills.
  • Analytical:

    Proficient in using MS Excel to analyze sales data, manage pipelines, and forecast accurately.
  • Communication:

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Bengali
  • Travel:

    Ability to travel extensively across Kolkata and nearby districts in west Bengal
