Head of Finance

Role Overview

The Finance Head will be responsible for leading all financial operations, investment processes, funding allocation, and financial governance within IQue Ventures and its associated startups. This role is central to ensuring financial discipline, transparent reporting, and efficient deployment of funds across the IQue ecosystem.

The position requires exceptional analytical capability, financial leadership, and strict compliance oversight, as it directly handles investment decisions, startup fund management, evaluation, and financial risk analysis.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Oversight for IQue Ventures

• Manage the complete financial operations of IQue Ventures, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Ensure accurate, real-time visibility of IQue’s financial position for the CEO and finance consulting team.
• Establish robust internal controls and financial guidelines to maintain discipline and compliance.

2. Funding Allocation to Startups

• Evaluate funding requests from portfolio startups based on predefined criteria and financial health.
• Conduct financial assessments, risk analysis, and due diligence before fund disbursement.
• Monitor fund allocation phases and ensure proper approval procedures are followed.

3. Fund Utilization Monitoring

• Collect and review periodic financial reports from all IQue-funded startups.
• Verify that funds are being utilized according to approved budgets and investment plans.
• Highlight discrepancies, misuse risks, or inefficiencies and raise actionable recommendations.
• Conduct periodic financial audits and compliance checks for startups.

4. Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports for the CEO and finance consulting team.
• Maintain detailed documentation of all investment decisions, fund releases, and utilization reports.
• Present insights on cash flow, reserves, investment performance, and financial risks.
• Create dashboards to monitor financial KPIs across IQue and portfolio companies.

5. Financial Strategy & Risk Management

• Support the CEO in making investment decisions, structuring funding rounds, and evaluating new business opportunities.
• Identify financial risks, suggest mitigation strategies, and introduce safeguards.
• Provide financial models, projections, and valuation support for new startup investments.
• Align financial plans with IQue Ventures’ long-term growth and expansion vision.

6. Inter-Department & Stakeholder Coordination

• Work closely with the Operations Head, Head of Growth, EA, and portfolio founders.
• Coordinate with external auditors, legal teams, tax advisors, and financial consultants.
• Ensure all financial activities meet regulatory, taxation, and compliance standards.

• Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, accounting, and fund flow management.

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Commerce
• OR CA, ACCA, or CMA Qualification (Qualified or Part-Qualified)
• OR MBA in Finance
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in finance roles (investment, startup finance, FP&A, or audit preferred).
• Experience in investment, venture finance, or startup portfolio management is an added advantage.
