Job Description

Job Summary

The Finance Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the hotel, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with statutory and brand requirements, effective cost control, and strategic financial planning to support profitability and operational efficiency.



Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Oversee daily accounting operations including AR, AP, GL, payroll, and cash management
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with accounting standards
  • Manage hotel budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to the General Manager and leadership team

Controls, Compliance & Audit

  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls and financial procedures
  • Ensure compliance with local laws, tax regulations, and hotel brand standards
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and implement audit recommendations
  • Monitor cash flow, bank reconciliations, and fund utilization

Cost Control & Revenue Support

  • Monitor and control operating costs, payroll, and departmental expenses
  • Work closely with Operations, Revenue Management, and Purchasing teams
  • Analyze cost of sales, margins, and profitability by department
  • Support pricing, contracts, and vendor negotiations

Taxation & Statutory Matters

  • Oversee tax filings including VAT/GST, income tax, withholding tax, and other statutory requirements
  • Liaise with tax advisors, auditors, banks, and regulatory authorities

Team Leadership

  • Lead, train, and develop the finance and accounting team
  • Set performance goals and ensure efficient workflow within the department
  • Foster a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement



Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA, CMA, CA preferred)
  • Minimum

    9-11 years

    of finance experience, with

    at least 5 years in the hotel or hospitality industry

  • Strong knowledge of hotel accounting systems (e.g., Opera, SUN, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Solid understanding of hospitality KPIs and cost structures
