We’re seeking a Financial Controller to lead our finance operations with full autonomy and strategic influence. This is an ideal role for a proactive CA or equivalent who thrives in high-impact environments and wants to be part of building a global business from the ground up. About the Role This is a high-responsibility, hands-on role for someone who can independently manage the full finance function — from daily accounting and internal controls to strategic financial planning. The right candidate will be comfortable working across jurisdictions, particularly with U.S. and Hong Kong reporting standards , and can set up efficient, scalable processes without relying on external advisors. This role is critical in supporting the financial health of the company and ensuring strong compliance, accurate reporting, and sound internal controls. The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, hands-on, and capable of independently managing the finance function in a fast-paced startup environment. This is a senior role offering both responsibility and autonomy, with direct reporting to the company’s leadership team. Responsibilities Financial Management & Reporting Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper bookkeeping practices. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Support the leadership team with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. Monitor and manage cash flow, expenses, and internal controls. Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling in support of business decisions. Compliance & Statutory Responsibilities Ensure compliance with all US/HK statutory requirements. Maintain clear and up-to-date financial documentation for audit readiness. Process Improvements & Support to Leadership Identify gaps and implement improvements in finance processes and controls. Contribute to cost optimisation and operational efficiency. Provide input into pricing, vendor management, and resource planning. Requirements Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent (e.g. CPA, ACCA). 5–10 years of post-qualification experience in accounting, compliance, and financial control. Strong working knowledge of accounting standards applicable to cross-border operations (especially U.S. and HK contexts). Experience in startups, e-commerce, or product-led businesses is an advantage. Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets and familiar with financial software and systems. Highly detail-oriented, organised, and proactive in identifying risks or inefficiencies. Comfortable working independently and reporting directly to the founders.
