Position Overview: We are looking for a proactive and analytical Financial Operations Manager to lead our domestic and cross-border settlement operations, oversee host-to-bank and payout cash flow reconciliations, and optimize fund flow infrastructure across markets. This role is critical in ensuring smooth financial operations, identifying better-performing payment rails, managing key merchant relationships, and using FX insights to improve cost-efficiency and operational positioning. Key Responsibilities: 1. Settlement Strategy & Execution Manage end-to-end domestic and international settlement operations across various currencies and payment rails. Identify, evaluate, and implement more cost-effective, scalable, and reliable payout infrastructures. Collaborate with Treasury and FX teams to align payout timing and routes with favourable market conditions. Partner with Product and Tech teams to improve the automation, traceability, and performance of settlement processes. 2. Cash Flow & Reconciliation Oversight Own the full reconciliation of cash flows — including both money-in and money-out, with a focus on timely and accurate merchant payouts. Track and explain all fund movements, including manual entries, variances, and one-off adjustments, to the Treasury team for forecasting and reporting alignment. Establish structured reconciliation workflows and controls to ensure full visibility and quick resolution of breaks. Ensure alignment with accounting steams to match reconciled balances against general ledger and financial statements. 3. Merchant Relationship & Issue Management Act as a key operational contact for strategic merchants, supporting their settlement and payout needs with speed and precision. Lead root-cause analysis and resolution of merchant-facing payout issues, ensuring high service standards. Collect merchant feedback to drive improvements in settlement structure and fund delivery reliability. Support onboarding of new merchant payout structures in collaboration with Sales, Product, and Compliance. 4. FX & Market Positioning Monitor FX markets to identify opportunities for cost-effective fund flows and better currency routing. Work closely with Treasury to propose and implement improvements in fund positioning, conversion timing, and currency use. Minimize FX-related costs and optimize net settlement margins through proactive strategy adjustments. 5. Process Improvement & Risk Management Design, implement, and continuously enhance SOPs and internal controls for settlement and reconciliation. Identify operational risks in fund movement and reconciliation processes and implement preventive solutions. Drive operational efficiency by promoting automation, process simplification, and data transparency. 6. Reporting & Analytics Develop dashboards and reports tracking settlement performance, reconciliation health, and FX impact. Provide regular updates to Finance leadership on metrics, trends, exceptions, and opportunities for optimization. Contribute data and analysis for audits, financial planning, and business reviews. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in financial operations, settlements, treasury, or cash management in a fintech, payments, or financial services environment. Deep understanding of payment rails (local and cross-border), fund flow architecture, and reconciliation processes. Experience with cash flow tracking, payout reconciliation, and working closely with Treasury and Accounting teams. Familiarity with FX markets and how to optimize fund movement strategies across currencies. Strong Excel and financial system skills (experience with ERP, payment gateways, or reconciliation tools a plus). Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
