E-commerce Manager – Marketplaces

This role carries end-to-end ownership of marketplace revenue, seller operations, catalog health, account compliance, advertising efficiency, and profitability. The ideal candidate must have deep marketplace expertise, hands-on experience with Seller Central tools, an analytical mindset, and proven success in driving growth on leading Indian e-commerce platforms.


Key Responsibilities

1. Marketplace Sales & Performance Marketing (50%)

  • Develop and execute revenue growth strategies to maximize GMV across all marketplaces.
  • Manage sponsored ads, keyword strategies, promotions, coupons, and deals using marketplace ad consoles (Amazon Ads, Flipkart PLA, etc.).
  • Improve listing visibility and conversions through SEO-driven optimization of titles, bullets, descriptions, A+ content, and images.
  • Benchmark competition, refine pricing strategies, and deploy high-impact promotional campaigns.
  • Maintain excellent seller account health and maximise Buy Box percentage.
  • Execute marketplace-led collaborations, influencer tie-ups, and platform-specific seasonal campaigns.


2. Marketplace Operations & Fulfillment (30%)

  • Monitor and manage end-to-end order fulfilment through FBA/FBF, Easy Ship, Smart Fulfillment, or self-ship models.
  • Ensure >98% on-time delivery through coordination with logistics teams and marketplace fulfilment centres.
  • Reduce order defect rates, returns, RTO, A-to-Z claims, and negative feedback.
  • Manage integrations (ERP/OMS) for seamless inventory sync and operational accuracy.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with marketplace policies, quality checks, packaging, GST norms, and listing guidelines.


3. Customer Experience & Feedback Management (5%)

  • Actively monitor and respond to customer reviews, ratings, and queries across marketplaces.
  • Maintain high seller rating (≥4.5), low negative feedback, and excellent post-purchase experience.
  • Drive initiatives to increase repeat purchase rate within marketplace ecosystem constraints.


4. Catalog, Content & Merchandising (10%)

  • Lead onboarding of new SKUs with accurate taxonomy, attributes, rich media assets, and platform-compliant content.
  • Maintain catalog hygiene—zero suppressed listings, accurate inventory, no duplications.
  • Collaborate with design teams for images, videos, A+ content, infographics, and mobile-first creatives.
  • Optimize listings for mobile-first and voice-search behaviour.


5. Financial Planning, Margins & Cost Control (5%)

  • Track and analyze marketplace fees, commissions, ad spends, return costs, and relative profitability.
  • Ensure accurate daily/weekly reconciliation and fast resolution of payment discrepancies.
  • Run initiatives to reduce cost-to-serve, returns, and overall operational leakages.


6. Analytics, Insights & Business Intelligence (Overall Overlay)

  • Develop dashboards and analytical reports using Seller Central tools, Looker Studio, Power BI, etc.
  • Track funnel metrics, keyword rankings, share of voice, sales velocity, and category benchmarks.
  • Run A/B tests across creatives, pricing, and ad strategies to generate actionable insights.

Candidate Requirements

  • 3–6+ years of deep hands-on marketplace management experience (Amazon & Flipkart mandatory).
  • Strong understanding of marketplace SEO, ads, operations, account health, and seller metrics.
  • Experience with ERP/OMS tools, bulk uploads, API integrations, and reconciliation.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Prior experience in fashion, jewellery, accessories, beauty, lifestyle, or D2C brands preferred.
