Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy for Energy Sector more focused on Solar IPP & BESS in alignment with the company’s growth objectives.
  • Analyze market trends, policies, and competitive landscape to identify new opportunities in renewable energy.
  • Project Origination & Development

-         Identify, evaluate, and originate renewable energy project opportunities from conception through financial close

-         Lead feasibility studies and commercial viability assessments for potential solar IPP projects

-         Coordinate site acquisition activities, including land leasing negotiations and permitting processes

-         Oversee project pipeline development, ensuring optimal project selection and resource allocation

  • Project Acquisition:

  • Identify, evaluate, and secure solar project opportunities through government tenders, private PPAs, and strategic partnerships.
  • Manage bidding, RfS/RfP submissions, and negotiations for long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs).
  • Partnership & Stakeholder Management:

  • Build relationships with government agencies, DISCOMs, financial institutions, EPC contractors, technology providers, and consultants.
  • Collaborate with internal teams for technical, legal, and financial due diligence of projects.
  • Financial & Commercial Evaluation:

  • Oversee preparation of financial models, risk assessment, and pricing strategies for solar projects.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, project financing norms, and sustainability standards.
  • Leadership & Team Building:

  • Build and lead a dedicated business development team for the energy vertical.
  • Define strategic goals, KPIs, and tactical approaches for the Energy Sector division aligned with corporate objectives
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to ensure high-performance culture.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Energy / Business; MBA or

    Electrical Engineer

    preferred.
  • 12+ years of experience in business development, with at least 5 years in renewable energy (solar/wind/BESS).
  • Strong knowledge of Indian solar power market, government policies, and IPP/BESS business models.
  • Expertise in financial modeling, bid management, and PPA negotiations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Regulatory approvals, processes and policies.

Technical & Industry Knowledge

·        Deep understanding of solar PV technology, project economics, and market fundamentals

·        Comprehensive knowledge of power markets, regulatory frameworks, and grid interconnection processes

·        Familiarity with project finance structures, including tax equity, debt financing, and revenue models

·        Understanding of environmental regulations, permitting processes, and land use considerations
