Job Summary
The Assistant Operations Manager – Fleet will be responsible for managing day-to-day fleet and driver operations across multiple clients with differing operational requirements. The role demands strong people management, process adherence, and coordination skills to ensure 100% on-time delivery support, smooth driver deployment, and compliance with all documentation and operational procedures under both rental and salary-based models.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operations & Client CoordinationManage and oversee daily logistics operations for assigned clients, including two key “Spot” clients with distinct operation schedules.
Ensure 100% delivery support by maintaining adequate driver and vehicle availability for each shift.
Coordinate with clients for load planning, dispatch timing, and performance feedback.
Maintain high service levels and operational efficiency while addressing real-time issues.
2. Driver Hiring, Deployment & DocumentationOversee end-to-end driver recruitment — sourcing, interviews, background verification, and onboarding.
Ensure deployment of drivers under Porter, Rental, and Salary-based models as per operational requirements.
Enforce documentation and process compliance — including ID verification, driving license, and internal onboarding forms.
Follow i-Truck’s driver agreement and ensure each driver’s process is completed before assignment.
Maintain an updated driver database and track driver performance and attendance.
3. Process & Compliance Management: Implement and monitor i-Truck’s internal processes for fleet and driver management.
Ensure adherence to company SOPs for client-specific operations, including Porter process alignment.
Regularly audit driver documentation, vehicle records, and client service reports.
Obtain and record two driver references for each new onboarding.
4. Team & Performance Management Supervise team leaders and coordinators to ensure smooth deployment and shift transitions.
Drive operational efficiency by optimizing driver allocation and minimizing downtime.
Monitor daily performance metrics such as delivery completion rate, vehicle utilization, and on-time performance.
Conduct regular reviews and training to improve operational capability and driver professionalism.
5. Reporting & Coordination: Prepare and share daily operational and utilization reports with management.
Escalate client or operational issues proactively and recommend corrective measures.
Coordinate with finance and HR for payroll, rental settlements, and driver incentives.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration.
1–3 years of experience in fleet operations, driver management, or logistics coordination, preferably in the last-mile or EV logistics domain.
Proficiency in MS Office and fleet management software.
Strong communication, people management, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent understanding of driver deployment, rental operations, and shift scheduling.
