System Administration Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive IT / Network Administrator to manage and maintain our organization’s and it’s clients Windows and Linux-based systems. The ideal candidate will also have deep expertise in Microsoft 365 (M365) administration and hybrid infrastructure, enabling seamless integration between cloud services and on-premises networks.

Key Responsibilities:

· Administer, monitor, and maintain Windows and Linux servers, ensuring system performance and uptime.

· Manage key IT services including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, and file/print servers.

· Oversee the full M365 environment: Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, Intune, Azure AD, and compliance center.

· Implement and support hybrid identity with Azure AD Connect and enforce Conditional Access policies.

· Automate administrative tasks using PowerShell and Bash.

· Handle endpoint management and mobile device policies via Microsoft Intune.

· Manage LAN/WAN infrastructure, firewalls, VPNs, and VLAN configurations.

· Monitor system/network performance and proactively resolve incidents and outages.

· Administer backup and disaster recovery solutions, ensuring data integrity.

· Maintain system documentation, diagrams, and IT procedural manuals.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams on IT projects and onboarding workflows.

· Ensure seamless integration between on-premises infrastructure and M365 cloud services.

· Enforce security best practices across all systems and endpoints.

· Document system configurations, procedures, and network diagrams.

· Collaborate with internal teams to support IT projects and user onboarding/offboarding.

Required Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

· Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in IT systems and network administration.

· Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server(2016/2019/2022) and Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS/RHEL).

· Proficiency in Microsoft 365 administration and hybrid deployment models.

· In-depth experience with M365 admin center, Intune, and hybrid cloud identity.

· Familiarity with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and Office 365 security best practices.

· Familiarity with PowerShell scripting and automation tools.

· Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls).

· Experience with networking protocols (TCP/IP), firewall management, and VPNs.

· Experience with virtualization platforms (e.g., Hyper-V, VMware) is a plus.

· Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSA, Azure Administrator, CompTIA Network+) preferred.

· Exposure to cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure for hybrid integration.

Expanded Technical Skills:

· Windows Server roles and services (GPO, WSUS, IIS).

· Linux system operations, log analysis, scripting, and hardening.

· PowerShell & Bash scripting for automation.

· Microsoft Defender, compliance configuration, and email protection policies (SPF, DKIM, DMARC).

· Backup tools like Veeam, Acronis, or similar; familiarity with rsync and scheduling.

· Monitoring tools: PRTG, Zabbix, Nagios, Microsoft Sentinel.

· Experience with firewall/security appliances (Fortinet, SonicWall, Cisco ASA).

· Certificate lifecycle management and SSL/TLS configuration.

· Documentation proficiency using Visio, SharePoint, or Confluence.

· Git or basic awareness of CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
