Job Description We are seeking a skilled Linux Administrator to manage, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux-based systems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in configuring, monitoring, and securing Linux environments while ensuring high availability and optimal performance. Responsibilities System Administration & Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL, Debian, etc.), manage system upgrades, patches, and security updates and perform system monitoring and optimize performance. Security & Compliance: Implement and maintain security best practices (firewall rules, SSH hardening, intrusion detection, monitor system logs and respond to security threats and ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory security policies. Network & Server Management: Configure and troubleshoot network services (DNS, DHCP, NFS, FTP, VPN, etc.), manage web servers (Apache, Nginx) and database servers (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and work with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM, Docker, Kubernetes). Scripting & Automation: Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash, Python, or Ansible, automate system deployments and configurations and optimize system performance through automation. Backup & Disaster Recovery: Implement and manage backup strategies (rsync, Bacula, Veeam, etc.) and develop and test disaster recovery plans. Troubleshooting & Support: Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues, provide technical support and training to end-users and collaborate with development teams for DevOps and CI/CD integration. Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 3+ years of experience in Linux administration. Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (Ubuntu, RHEL, CentOS, etc.). Hands-on experience with shell scripting, automation tools, and configuration management (Ansible, Puppet, Chef). Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing). Proficiency in troubleshooting system and application issues. Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices. Preferred Qualifications Certifications like RHCSA, RHCE, LFCS, or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator. Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD). As the Service Manager - Service Desk , you will act as the key technical contact for all Service Desk escalations and support delivery.
