Function Description:

Global Support, Enablement and Control (GSEC) brings together the company’s external and internal service functions, and includes the below world-class organizations:

· GSG Automation,

· MIS & Analytics Team, and

· Sales and Business Enablement, which provides many of the vital internal services that make American Express run efficiently.

Sales and Business Enablement

Sales and Business Enablement (SABE) within GSEC is an internal servicing team providing sale performance reporting and business enablement support to the enterprise. The objective of the SABE Performance Reporting and Insights team is to ensure that Consumer, Commercial and Merchant businesses have timely and accurate reporting, insights and forward looking actions to help drive business performance.

Role Name: Reporting & Analytics

Purpose:

Enable data-driven decision-making and enhance productivity across the enterprise by delivering best-in-class reporting, actionable insights, and predictive forecasts that drive strategic and operational outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive performance reporting and insights to enable the leadership team and business units to evaluate and drive business performance effectively.
• Collaborate with functional leaders, Strategic Business Partners, and senior stakeholders to eliminate friction points, ensure data integrity, and deliver actionable insights aligned with key business objectives.
• Understand complex operational systems and business intelligence ecosystems to design and develop efficient, scalable, and impactful analytics products and data solutions.
• Devise and implement process improvement methodologies and automation solutions that ensure flawless, timely, and value-added reporting delivery exceeding stakeholder expectations.
• Evolve and modernize reporting frameworks to address changing business priorities, proactively engaging stakeholders early in the design phase to gain alignment and accelerate adoption.
• Leverage internal best practices and external benchmarks to bring an outside-in perspective and deliver innovative, best-in-class reporting and insights solutions.
• Drive data democratization and self-service analytics adoption by building intuitive dashboards, data models, and visualization tools that empower teams across the enterprise.
• Mentor and guide junior analysts , promoting analytical rigor, storytelling excellence, and a culture of continuous improvement in reporting and insights generation.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Technology, Data Engineering, and Finance teams to ensure alignment of data strategy, governance, and delivery standards across platforms.
• Continuously assess emerging tools and technologies (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Databricks, Snowflake, and AI-driven analytics) to enhance analytical maturity and business impact.

Academic Background:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Postgraduate degree in Engineering, Management, or Analytics preferred.

Job Description: Senior Analyst / Data & Insights Lead

Past Experience

• 4–10 years of relevant experience in data analytics, reporting, and business intelligence , with strong knowledge of data visualization, automation, and advanced analytics .
• Proven expertise in designing and delivering data-driven insights and scalable analytics solutions that drive business performance.
• Preferred: Strong hands-on experience with Python, SQL, Hive, Tableau, and big data/cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS and Snowflake .

• Experience in dashboard creation , data pipeline orchestration , and automated reporting solutions .
• Familiarity with ML model deployment and API-based data integrations .

• Data Visualization: Strong ability to convert data into compelling dashboards and executive-ready insights.
• Cloud & Big Data Expertise: Experience working within modern data ecosystems (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, GCP).

Preferred:

• Experience in predictive analytics, AI-driven automation , and data product design .
