Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced SAP EWM Technical Consultant with strong hands-on expertise in SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) and ABAP development to join our dynamic and growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing technical solutions in SAP EWM that enhance warehouse operations, logistics efficiency, and overall system performance.You will collaborate closely with functional teams, business stakeholders, and technical architects to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions. The role demands a blend of EWM functional understanding, ABAP programming expertise, and strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities to ensure seamless warehouse automation and process integration.This is an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge SAP S/4HANA EWM implementations and global rollout projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement custom technical solutions for SAP EWM using ABAP, OOABAP, and EWM-specific frameworks.
- Collaborate with EWM functional consultants to understand warehouse processes and design robust technical architectures aligned with business goals.
- Develop and enhance EWM components such as RF frameworks, handling unit management, wave management, and warehouse monitor.
- Work on integration scenarios involving SAP EWM with other modules such as MM, SD, PP, TM, and GTS.
- Develop and manage interfaces using IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, and Web Services to ensure smooth data flow between SAP and external systems.
- Participate in system configuration, custom enhancements, and performance tuning for large-scale warehouse systems.
- Build and enhance custom reports, ALV grids, forms (Smart Forms, Adobe Forms, SAP Script), and user exits/BADIs to support warehouse operations.
- Support S/4HANA EWM migration projects including code remediation, HANA optimization, and SAP Note implementation.
- Manage transport requests, SPAU/SPDD adjustments, and system upgrades ensuring adherence to SAP development standards.
- Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and defect resolution, ensuring high-quality technical deliverables.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in warehouse processes, RF transactions, and queue management in collaboration with functional teams.
- Document technical specifications, design approaches, and test cases for all development objects.
- Provide technical support, production issue resolution, and post-implementation assistance.
- Participate in peer code reviews and contribute to establishing technical best practices across SAP EWM projects.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 68 years of total SAP experience with at least 4+ years in SAP EWM Technical Development.
- Strong programming experience in ABAP, OOABAP, BAPIs, BADIs, Enhancement Framework, User Exits, and RFCs.
- Deep understanding of EWM data structures, warehouse processes, and object-oriented EWM development.
- Hands-on experience with RF framework customization, queue management, warehouse monitor enhancements, and wave/pick-pack-putaway processes.
- Exposure to PPF (Post Processing Framework) and BRF+ for rule-based automation and warehouse notifications.
- Good knowledge of interfaces and integration (IDocs, Web Services, PI/PO, or CPI) between SAP and external systems.
- Experience with Smart Forms, SAP Script, and Adobe Forms for warehouse documentation and label printing.
- Working experience in EWM on S/4HANA environments and HANA code optimization.
- Familiarity with TMEWM integration, decentralized EWM setups, and RF device configurations.
- Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills (Good To Have)
- Experience with EWM MFS (Material Flow System) integration.
- Understanding of SAP Fiori/UI5 applications related to EWM.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience in SAP S/4HANA conversion projects or greenfield EWM implementations.
- Knowledge of transportation management (TM) and warehouse robotics integration.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related discipline.
- SAP Certification in EWM or ABAP is an added advantage.
