Job Profile: Relationship Manager – Insurance Broking Position Summary The Relationship Manager (RM) is responsible for developing and managing relationships with corporate and retail clients to promote insurance products and services offered through the broking firm. The RM acts as the primary point of contact between clients and the insurance company, ensuring client satisfaction, policy renewals, and business growth. Key Responsibilities 1. Client Acquisition & Business Development Identify and acquire new clients (corporate & individual) for various lines of insurance (General, Health, Life, Marine, Property, Liability, etc.). Generate leads through networking, referrals, cold calls, and market research. Achieve assigned sales and revenue targets for both new and renewal business. 2. Client Relationship Management Maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients and key decision-makers. Understand client needs, risk exposures, and provide suitable insurance solutions. Act as a liaison between clients and insurance companies for quotations, policy issuance, and claim assistance. 3. Policy Servicing & Renewal Management Handle policy renewals proactively and ensure timely renewal of client policies. Review existing insurance portfolios and suggest enhancements or cost optimizations. Coordinate with underwriting and operations teams for documentation, endorsements, and compliance. 4. Claims Support Assist clients in claim intimation, documentation, and coordination with insurers. Provide end-to-end support to ensure smooth and fair claim settlement. 5. Market Intelligence & Reporting Keep updated on insurance products, industry trends, IRDAI regulations, and competitor activities. Prepare MIS reports on sales, renewals, and client servicing activities for management review. Skills & Competencies :-Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Good understanding of various insurance products and risk management concepts. Negotiation and persuasion skills. Customer-centric approach with service orientation. Ability to work under pressure and meet targets. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CRM tools. Educational Qualification Graduate (preferably in Commerce, Business Administration, or Insurance). MBA or PG Diploma in Insurance, Finance, or Marketing (preferred). IRDAI (Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India) certification/licensing for broking operations (mandatory as per role). Experience 0–2 years of experience in insurance broking, banking, or financial services. Experience in handling corporate clients or SME accounts preferred. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)New business generation (premium volume & revenue). Client retention and renewal ratio. Cross-selling and upselling of insurance products. Customer satisfaction and feedback. Claims turnaround time and support efficiency.
