Job Summary
As a Product Marketing Specialist at OpenGov, you will play a critical role in driving the success of our product lines by developing and executing effective marketing strategies. You will collaborate closely with product management, sales, and customer success teams to position our solutions in the market, create compelling messaging, and generate demand. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, creativity, and hands-on execution to ensure that our products meet market needs and achieve growth objectives.
Responsibilities
- Market Research & Analysis:
- Conduct market research to understand customer needs, competitive landscape, and industry trends.
- Develop customer personas and identify key market segments to target.
- Analyze market data and customer feedback to inform product positioning and messaging.
- Product Positioning & Messaging:
- Based on research, create and refine product messaging that highlights unique value propositions and differentiators.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of OpenGov’s products, their benefits, and how they interconnect.
- Craft compelling content for various marketing materials, including datasheets, slide decks, product videos, website pages, etc.
- Go-to-Market Strategy:
- Collaborate with product management to develop and execute go-to-market strategies and launch plans for new product launches and updates.
- Plan and coordinate product launches, including creating launch plans, showcasing products at events, and developing promotional materials.
- Sales Enablement:
- Develop sales tools and resources, such as product sheets, battle cards, and training materials, to support the sales team.
- Provide training and support to sales teams to ensure they effectively communicate product value and address customer objections.
- Campaign Management:
- Assist with Demand Generation activities such as webinars and execution of marketing campaigns including but not limited to informing messaging, target lists, and industry conferences/events
- Assist with other responsibilities and tasks as needed, including but not limited to writing blogs, assisting with campaigns including data analysis to inform strategy for upsell campaigns, knowledge transfer, field training, etc.
- Monitor and analyze campaign performance, adjusting strategies as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with product management, sales, and customer success teams to ensure alignment and support product initiatives.
- Serve as the marketing point of contact for product-related inquiries and projects.
- Collaborate with counterparts in Enablement, Demand Generation, Communications, Content, and the Proposals team
Requirements And Preferred Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required, concentration in Marketing, Business, Product, Engineering, or Communications preferred
- Strong writing, communication, and presentation skills required
- Ability to work cross-functionally required
- Ability to project manage and self-start projects required
- Desire to learn and tackle new challenges required
- At least 2-4 years working in marketing or product management
- Experience in b2b SaaS and/ or government preferred
- Experience working in Salesforce, Gong, Google Suite, Canva, Guru (or other CMS/ LMS tool) preferred
