We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Product Owner / Product Manager to lead the development and management of our centralized DevOps team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in defining the product vision, strategy, and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives and driving the product to success.

Product Vision and Strategy:

  • Develop and communicate a clear product vision and strategy for the centralized DevOps team.
  • Align product strategy with business objectives and internal stakeholder’s needs, ensuring competitive differentiation and customer satisfaction.
  • Define, prioritize, and maintain the product roadmap, including short-term and long-term goals.
  • Ensure all documentation is up to date and accurately reflects the product vision and strategy.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:

  • Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Engage with customers, executive teams, industry partners, research institutes, and other relevant parties to gather requirements, understand needs, and ensure alignment.
  • Communicate product plans, progress, changes, and risks effectively to all relevant parties.
  • Prepare comprehensive product documentation, including user manuals, training materials, and release notes.

Requirements Definition and Management:

  • Translate business requirements into detailed user stories and technical specifications, ensuring completeness and clarity.
  • Prioritize the backlog based on business value, technical feasibility, and strategic importance.
  • Continually refine and adjust requirements based on feedback, market changes, and technical inputs.
  • Document all requirements thoroughly to maintain a clear and organized record.

Product Development and Delivery:

  • Lead the agile development process, facilitating sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups.
  • Ensure the development team understands the product goals and works efficiently towards achieving them.
  • Resolve any impediments or blockers that arise and mediate between competing priorities.
  • Document technical solutions and implementation details to support ongoing and future development efforts.

Quality Assurance and Testing:

  • Define acceptance criteria for features and enhancements, ensuring they meet business objectives and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with QA teams to conduct thorough testing and validation.
  • Ensure continuous improvement in product quality through iterative refinements and feedback loops.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of testing procedures, results, and any issues identified.

Performance Monitoring and Optimization:

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track product success and identify areas for improvement.
  • Gather and analyse user feedback, utilizing data-driven approaches to inform product decisions.
  • Work closely with the technical team to optimize performance, scalability, and reliability of the platform.
  • Document performance benchmarks, optimization techniques, and any changes implemented.

AI Capability Integration:

  • Develop a strategic plan for incorporating DevOps and DevSecOps into the DEVX platform.
  • Collaborate with SW architects and Software designers to define and integrate AI in the DEVX platform
  • Ensure AI integration aligns with overall product goals and enhances customer value.
  • Measure KPIs for API integrations, implementation steps, and broadcast the results to the wider forum.

Documentation and Training:

  • Prepare comprehensive product documentation, including user manuals, training materials, and release notes.
  • Conduct training sessions for internal teams and external stakeholders as needed.

Process and Improvement:

  • Apply process, standards, methods, and tools applicable to the métier.
  • Organize the program development process and its continuous improvement adaptable to Agile and DevOps ethos.
  • Prepare, share, and maintain the Engineering Management Plan together with the program core team and program support team.
  • Address program development strategy, technical risks, and technical referents identification.
  • Review other engineering plans of the programs to ensure efficiency & consistency with the Engineering Management Plan (EMP).
  • Organize capture and activities for continuous improvement and production of métier Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Program Development Leardership:

  • Interface with the Program manager on the program development activities to deliver the program items according to the QCD commitment.
  • Coordinate the program development team activities.
  • Ensure the product/system reaches the committed performance levels.
  • Develop design-to-cost approaches to decrease system/product deployment cost and product unit cost.
  • Ensure application of decision-making and validate decisions with program stakeholders.
  • Organize, participate, and follow-up on Design Reviews and Peer Reviews of engineering work products.
  • Support other métiers and ensure the link between them.

Configuration and Technical Interface:

  • Manage the program’s interface on technical matters with the support of Lead Architect and Lead Software Architect.
  • Support users for program needs definition and issues.
  • Coordinate consistency between program baselines deliveries and long-term needs.
  • Manage User Groups/user community and participate in program reviews for technical support and reporting.
  • Manage the Delivery Master List (DML), documentation reviews, requirement management, and CCBs (internal and external).
  • Organize delivery reviews and ensure the program items deliveries in configuration.
  • Lead hardware change and definition, validate configurations under PLM, and validate hardware evolution impacts.
  • Support the Program Manager for engineering cost and planning management.
  • Provide QCD analyses & estimations on evolutions together with the program core and engineering teams.
  • Liaise with projects and tender activities for evolutions & anomalies analysis, roadmap, and documentation support.
  • Alert and report on any events/risks that may impact program development and associated QCD commitments.
  • Validate material selection and procurement activities with the Program Manager.
  • Promote the Alstom Code of Ethics and adhere to the highest standards of ethical conduct.

Education:

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in Computer science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Total 15+ years’ experience with minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, with a focus on managing DevOps / Developer Experience tools.
  • Experience in managing complex Software products and integrating DevOps and DevSecOps into software products.
  • Proven experience in prioritizing and managing product backlogs.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and managing cross-functional teams.
  • Proven track record of delivering products that meet customer needs and drive business value.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner in large-scale agile or DevOps projects.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps tools and practices (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform).
  • Experience working in a scaled agile environment (SAFe, LeSS, or Nexus).
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
  • Technical background or familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
  • Certification in Product Ownership (CSPO, SAFe PO/PM) preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in enterprise-scale DevOps or cloud transformation projects.
  • Technical background in software engineering or systems architecture.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Agile Product Ownership: Strong experience in backlog management, user story creation, and sprint planning.
  • DevOps Expertise: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, containerization, and cloud-native tools.
  • Scaled Agile Frameworks: Experience with SAFe, LeSS, or Nexus environments.
  • Stakeholder Management: Ability to engage and align diverse technical and business stakeholders.
  • Technical Acumen: Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), microservices, and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Analytical Thinking: Skilled in defining KPIs, interpreting metrics, and making data-driven decisions.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Product Vision & Strategy: Define and communicate the product roadmap aligned with DevOps goals such as CI/CD, automation, observability, and infrastructure as code.
  • Backlog Management: Own and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring clarity, alignment with business objectives, and readiness for development sprints.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with engineering, operations, security, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and validate solutions.
  • Scaled Agile Coordination: Work within a SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) or similar environment to synchronize with multiple agile teams and release trains.
  • DevOps Enablement: Champion DevOps principles and practices, including continuous integration, automated testing, deployment pipelines, and monitoring.
  • Metrics & Feedback: Define KPIs and success metrics; use data-driven insights to iterate and improve product features and delivery processes.
  • Risk & Compliance: Ensure solutions meet enterprise security, compliance, and governance standards.
