About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Payroll Specialist with expertise in India payroll operations to join our team. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the payroll process for our organisation’s employees in India, which includes over 2500 employees. In addition to your strong knowledge of India payroll laws and regulations, you should have a deep understanding of payroll taxes, reporting and analysis, and accounting entries. Experience in global payroll operations will be considered an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage payroll processing for our organization's employees in India, ensuring accurate and timely payroll calculations, deductions, and disbursements.
- Review and process CTC-based and non-CTC-based reimbursement claims.
- Handle Investment declaration and Investment proof submission process.
- Managing various reports and preparing MIS and dashboards
- Filing of Quarterly Income Tax Returns and issuance of Form 16.
- Prepare and reconcile payroll reports, including payroll registers, tax filings, and year-end reports, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and internal policies.
- Collaborate with the HR department to obtain and process accurate employee data, including new hires, terminations, promotions, and salary changes.
- Responsible for Employee Grievance handling as per the TAT.
- Conduct payroll induction for new hires and resolve queries.
- Perform periodic audits and reconciliations of payroll records to ensure accuracy and identify and resolve any discrepancies or errors.
- Stay updated on the latest changes in India payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements, and ensure full compliance in all payroll-related activities.
Qualifications And Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field. A relevant professional certification, such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), would be advantageous.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in managing payroll processes for a large organization in India.
- Strong knowledge of India payroll taxes, laws, and statutory regulations, including PF, ESI, Professional Tax, and Income Tax.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to generate payroll reports, analyze data, and provide actionable insights.
- Strong Excel skills are a must. A candidate with advanced Excel skills will be an added advantage.
- Familiarity with accounting principles and understanding and handling payroll-related accounting entries.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and data integrity, with a commitment to meeting deadlines.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and government authorities.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
