Oracle EBS Functional Consultant (Mid-Senior) Location : Kolkata Experience : 4 to 6 Years Type : Functional Expertise About The Role We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Oracle EBS Functional Consultant to join our dynamic team in Kolkata. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the analysis, design, configuration, and implementation of Oracle EBS solutions for our clients. You will play a crucial part in bridging the gap between business requirements and technical solutions, ensuring successful project delivery and client satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Independently understand complex business requirements, identify gaps, and propose robust and scalable solutions using Oracle EBS modules. Configure Oracle EBS modules end-to-end to meet client-specific needs, including developing custom solutions using tools like Forms Builder, Reports Builder, OAF, and PL/SQL. Lead the design, development, and rigorous testing of custom solutions, interfaces, and reports for Oracle EBS. Take a lead role in project planning, execution, testing, and deployment phases of IT projects, ensuring timely and quality deliverables. Provide ongoing expert support, troubleshoot complex issues, and proactively maintain the stability and performance of Oracle EBS environments. Collaborate effectively with clients, business users, and technical teams, acting as a primary point of contact to ensure successful implementation and optimization of Oracle solutions. Prepare detailed functional specifications, technical specifications, and comprehensive documentation for Oracle EBS implementations and customizations. Develop and deliver effective training programs and materials for business users on Oracle EBS functionality. Stay abreast of the latest Oracle EBS releases, features, and technologies to ensure optimal performance, efficiency, and adherence to best practices. Technical Skills Required Oracle EBS Core Functionality : Strong functional understanding of at least 3-4 key Oracle EBS modules (e.g, Order Management, Inventory, Procurement, Project Accounting, Manufacturing, HRMS, General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable). Ability to configure and troubleshoot within these areas, and a foundational understanding of how different modules interact within EBS (e.g, Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash cycles). Oracle EBS Configuration & Setup : Proven ability to perform end-to-end configuration and setup of Oracle EBS modules, including defining setups, profiles, flexfields (Key and Descriptive), lookups, value sets, document sequences, and other core configurations to meet complex business requirements. Customization and Extension Tools : Hands-on experience with and a strong understanding of how to leverage Oracle EBS development tools for customization and extension : Forms Builder : Experience in customizing existing forms and developing new forms, including form personalizations. Reports Builder : Proficient in developing and modifying custom reports. Oracle Application Framework (OAF) : Strong understanding of OAF concepts, ability to perform personalizations, and collaborate effectively with technical developers on OAF extensions and custom pages. Personalizations & Customizations : Expertise in applying form personalizations, custom libraries, and other standard EBS customization techniques. PL/SQL : Advanced proficiency in PL/SQL for data manipulation, complex data analysis, troubleshooting, creating custom packages/procedures/functions, and supporting integrations. Ability to read, understand, debug, and optimize existing PL/SQL code. SQL : Expert-level SQL query writing skills for efficient data extraction, in-depth analysis, complex troubleshooting, and performance tuning within the Oracle database. Ability to interpret execution plans. Oracle Alerts & Workflow : In-depth experience with configuring, customizing, and troubleshooting Oracle Alerts and Workflow processes. This includes understanding workflow definitions, notifications, and status monitoring and resolution. Oracle BI Publisher (XML Publisher) : Strong experience in designing and developing sophisticated reports using Oracle BI Publisher (formerly XML Publisher), including creating data definitions, complex layouts (RTF, XSL-FO), and integrating with EBS concurrent programs and forms. Data Migration & Interfaces : Extensive experience with various data migration strategies and tools within Oracle EBS (e.g, SQL-Loader, Web ADI, Open Interfaces, APIs, FBL - Financials Barcode Loader, EDI). Strong understanding of inbound and outbound interfaces. Oracle Application APIs : Experience in utilizing standard Oracle APIs for efficient data manipulation and integration purposes. System Integration Concepts : Comprehensive understanding of integration points between different Oracle EBS modules and with external systems (third-party applications, legacy systems). Experience working with various integration methodologies and technologies. Troubleshooting & Debugging : Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical and functional issues within Oracle EBS, often involving interaction with Oracle Support. Performance Tuning (Application Level) : Ability to identify and recommend solutions for performance bottlenecks within Oracle EBS application processes, concurrent programs, and configurations. Patching & Upgrades : Experience supporting and participating in Oracle EBS patching cycles and major version upgrades (e.g, R12.3 to R12.x), with a good understanding of online patching (ADOP). UNIX/Linux : Solid working knowledge of UNIX/Linux commands for navigating file systems, reviewing logs, understanding shell scripts, and performing basic system health checks relevant to EBS application servers. Desired Skills (Plus Points) Experience with Oracle R12.x versions, particularly understanding of the new features and online patching capabilities. Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Applications (SaaS) and migration concepts is a plus. Experience with other reporting tools or Business Intelligence platforms. Certifications in Oracle EBS modules or related technologies. Education & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. Relevant professional certifications (e.g, Oracle Certified Professional in EBS) are highly desirable (ref:hirist.tech)
