Purpose of the Role

Operations Manager

Key Responsibilities

• E-rickshaw Onboarding & Field Operations
• Own the full onboarding process for new e-rickshaw customers—including documentation, orientation, and technology enablement.
• Oversee the timely activation and handover of batteries to end users, ensuring a smooth customer experience.
• Cash Management & Control
• Coordinate daily cash collections and deposits from the field team, ensuring proper accounting and reconciliation.
• Implement controls and processes for handling, tracking, and reporting all cash flows related to battery distribution and swaps.
• Vendor Management (Welding & Repairs)
• Manage relationships with welding vendors and service providers; ensure timely repair, retrofitting, or customization of rickshaws as per requirements.
• Monitor service quality, resolve escalations, and optimize vendor performance for cost and turnaround time.
• Logistics, Production & Warehouse Coordination
• Liaise closely with the production and warehouse teams to align battery inventory, shipment schedules, and last-mile logistics.
• Ensure accurate tracking of stock movements, timely dispatch, and issue resolution for delivery/returns.
• Process Improvement & Reporting
• Identify gaps and inefficiencies in operational processes; drive continuous improvement and SOP implementation.
• Maintain dashboards and generate regular MIS reports for management on key operational metrics—onboarding, cash flow, vendor TAT, inventory status, etc.
• Team Management & Collaboration
• Lead and motivate a small team of field and operations executives.
• Foster strong communication and coordination between internal teams (sales, support, production) and external partners.
  

Required

Skills & Competencies

• 6+ years’ experience in operations, logistics, or supply chain management—ideally in EV, automotive, logistics, or FMCG sectors.
• Proven ability to manage multi-location, on-ground operations and cross-functional teams.
• Strong understanding of cash management, inventory control, and vendor management best practices.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
• Hands-on, proactive approach; able to operate independently and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving startup.
• Proficiency in Excel, MIS reporting, and basic use of operations/ERP tools.
• Fluent in Hindi and English; additional regional languages a plus.
  

Preferred

• Experience in electric mobility, battery operations, or commercial vehicle segment.
• Familiarity with e-rickshaw ecosystem and field-level challenges.
