Role Summary

The Manufacturing Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day production operations to ensure timely delivery, high-quality output, resource optimization, and adherence to safety and compliance standards. This role will play a key part in driving operational efficiency, leading the production team, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in line with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Planning & Execution

  • Develop and manage detailed production schedules based on customer orders, forecasts, and capacity planning.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of products by coordinating workflow, resource allocation, and production priorities.
  • Adjust schedules proactively to accommodate demand fluctuations, equipment downtime, or material availability.

2. Quality Control

  • Implement and maintain robust quality control processes across production lines.
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality audits to ensure products meet defined specifications and standards.
  • Take corrective action promptly to address deviations in product quality.

3. Resource Management

  • Optimize the use of manpower, machinery, and materials to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels, avoiding shortages or excess stock.
  • Coordinate with supply chain and procurement teams for timely material availability.

4. Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate production teams to achieve performance targets.
  • Assign tasks, monitor progress, and provide ongoing training to enhance skills and safety awareness.
  • Foster a collaborative and performance-driven work culture.

5. Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all operations comply with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free work environment.
  • Develop and enforce safety protocols to prevent workplace incidents.

6. Process Improvement

  • Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies through regular performance analysis.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality standards.

7. Record Keeping & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of production metrics, inventory, and quality test results.
  • Prepare regular production performance reports for management review.

8. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with engineering, R&D, sales, and logistics teams to ensure seamless coordination across departments.
  • Support product launches and design changes from a manufacturing readiness perspective.

9. Troubleshooting

  • Identify and resolve operational issues quickly to minimize downtime.
  • Liaise with maintenance teams for preventive and corrective maintenance of machinery.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Industrial Engineering, mechanical or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience:

    Minimum 8–12 years in manufacturing operations, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial role.
  • Proven track record in production planning, process improvement, and quality control.
  • Experience in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in production management software and MS Office tools.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing safety standards and compliance requirements.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Work Environment & Conditions

  • Full-time, on-site role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Requires close interaction with shop floor activities and cross-functional teams.
  • Occasional extended hours may be required to meet production deadlines.
