Job Title: Manager/Divisional Manager – Project Management (Electronic Systems / LRUs – Defense & Aerospace) Location: Samtel Avionics Ltd., Gurgaon Experience: 7+ years Education: B.Tech / M.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, or a related engineering discipline Certifications: PMP or equivalent (preferred) Industry: R&D and manufacturing of advanced electronic and electromechanical systems for Defense and Aerospace applications Functional Area: Project Management – Electronic Systems / LRUs Job Summary: Samtel Avionics Ltd. is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead complex development programs for electronic systems and Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) used in defense and aerospace applications. This role is responsible for end-to-end project management—including planning, execution, coordination with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with aerospace/military certification standards such as DO-254, DO-178C, MIL-STD-810, and MIL-STD-461. Key Responsibilities: Project Management: Lead all phases of LRU/system development—from concept to design, qualification, certification, and production. Define project scope, timelines, budgets, and quality goals. Maintain detailed project documentation including Gantt charts, work breakdown structures (WBS), and risk registers. Ensure on-time delivery of all milestones by proactively managing schedules and dependencies. Technical Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams across hardware, software, mechanical, test, and system engineering domains. Ensure accurate and complete requirement traceability from system-level needs to subsystem/component design. Support formal technical reviews including PDR (Preliminary Design Review), CDR (Critical Design Review), and TRR (Test Readiness Review). Compliance & Certification: Ensure adherence to relevant standards including DO-254 (hardware), DO-178C (software), MIL-STD-461 (EMI/EMC), MIL-STD-810 (environmental testing), etc. Interface with certification bodies like CEMILAC, DGAQA, RCMA, and MOD for approvals and audits. Coordinate product qualification testing (e.g., shock, vibration, EMI/EMC, thermal, humidity, altitude, etc.). Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Act as the primary point of contact for customers and external agencies. Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors for outsourced components or services. Regularly update leadership and clients on project status, risks, and mitigation strategies. Budgeting & Resource Planning: Define project budgets and resource requirements in collaboration with senior management. Monitor performance against KPIs and initiate corrective actions as required. Drive project profitability by minimizing overruns and maximizing operational efficiency. Required Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering field (Electronics, Mechanical, Aerospace, etc.). 7–10 years of experience in managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects within aerospace or defense sectors. Hands-on experience with certification standards such as DO-254, DO-178C, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461. Familiarity with avionics, mission systems, weapon systems, or high-reliability embedded electronics. Strong grasp of systems engineering practices and development lifecycles (V-model, waterfall, etc.). Proficiency with project management software (MS Project, Primavera, or similar). PMP or Prince2 certification is a strong plus. Excellent communication, team leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure in a regulated environment. Working knowledge of AS9100 / ISO9001 and product lifecycle documentation. Show more Show less
