Labels and Packaging Sourcing Manager – Job Profile Role Overview

The Labels and Packaging Sourcing Manager is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for labels, packaging materials, and related supplies. This role ensures cost efficiency, sustainability, quality, and timely availability of packaging solutions that align with the company’s brand, operational, and ESG goals. The manager acts as a bridge between suppliers, internal stakeholders (procurement, operations, marketing, R&D), and external partners to deliver innovative and reliable packaging solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Sourcing & Procurement
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for labels, cartons, flexible packaging, and specialty materials.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements with suppliers to optimize cost and value.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure reliability and innovation.
• Supplier Management
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers globally.
• Monitor supplier performance against KPIs (quality, delivery, compliance, sustainability).
• Conduct regular audits and risk assessments.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Partner with R&D, marketing, and operations to align packaging solutions with product and brand requirements.
• Support new product launches with timely sourcing of packaging materials.
• Work closely with logistics and supply chain teams to ensure smooth flow of packaging inventory.
• Sustainability & Compliance
• Drive initiatives for eco-friendly, recyclable, and sustainable packaging solutions.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and certifications (e.g., FSC, ISO, REACH).
• Track and report on ESG metrics related to packaging.
• Cost & Risk Management
• Analyze market trends, raw material costs, and supply chain risks.
• Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or brand standards.
• Develop contingency plans for supply disruptions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Administration, or related field (MBA preferred).
• 7–10 years of experience in sourcing/procurement, with at least 3–5 years in packaging or labels.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Knowledge of packaging materials, printing technologies, and sustainability standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement tools (SAP, Oracle, Coupa, etc.).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹480,000.00 - ₹600,000.00 per year
