Job Description

MIT VGHS is seeking a seasoned HR Manager with deep expertise in CBSE school operations. The ideal candidate will bring structured HR practices, leadership, and modern tools to drive recruitment, reduce attrition, and implement policies across our educational network. This is a core leadership role within the academic ecosystem.



🧩 Key Responsibilities

🔹 Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment for CBSE school teachers, admin, and support staff
  • Source candidates using job portals, local educator networks, and professional communities
  • Use AI tools and automation to streamline resume screening, shortlisting, and interview scheduling
  • Conduct onboarding and orientation programs for new hires

🔹 HR Policy & Compliance

  • Design and implement school-specific HR policies: leave, attendance, maternity, disciplinary procedures, staff code of conduct, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with CBSE board norms and Indian labor laws
  • Draft and maintain standardized documentation like appointment letters, contracts, and staff handbooks

🔹 Employee Life Cycle & Performance Management

  • Implement structured performance appraisal systems for academic and non-academic staff
  • Maintain employee life cycle records including probation, confirmation, and exit processes
  • Work with school leadership to assess performance and training needs

🔹 Retention & Engagement

  • Proactively address grievances and foster a positive school culture
  • Design employee engagement initiatives to reduce attrition
  • Conduct check-ins, feedback sessions, and exit interviews to understand employee needs

🔹 HR Systems & Operations

  • Implement and manage basic HRMS or school ERP systems
  • Maintain accurate employee records and generate monthly HR reports and dashboards
  • Coordinate with accounts/admin for payroll inputs and compliance



✅ Key Requirements (Must-Have Skills)

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5 to 10 years of HR experience, including minimum 3 years in a CBSE/ICSE school setup
  • Strong understanding of teacher recruitment and academic staffing norms
  • Proficient in using job portals (e.g., Naukri, Apna, Indeed)
  • Well-connected within the educator network in Pune
  • Able to use AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, resume screeners, automated interview scheduling tools)
  • Experienced in using HRMS or school ERP systems
  • Strong conflict management, documentation, and grievance-handling skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail
