government technology business (GovTech)
with municipal bodies, state agencies, and smart city missions. This role demands ownership of large-scale government technology projects
, mastery over tender-driven sales cycles
, and the ability to build long-term partnerships with policymakers and administrators
.You will be responsible for closing high-value system projects (₹1.5–2 Cr each)
and securing annual recurring revenue
through maintenance contracts. The role is ideal for someone who has successfully navigated the complexities of public sector sales, tendering, and technology-driven transformation projects
.Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership:
Lead end-to-end sales cycles for government technology projects – from opportunity mapping, tender participation, and RFP submissions to product demos, negotiations, and contract closures.Government Relationships:
Build and sustain relationships with commissioners, smart city CEOs, municipal administrators, and state-level decision-makers.Tender & RFP Management:
Ensure compliance with government procurement processes (GeM, CPPP, state e-portals); drive winning strategies for bids and proposals.Solution Evangelism:
Deliver impactful product presentations, proof-of-concept pilots, and policy-level discussions to establish credibility with stakeholders.Collaboration:
Work with internal product, delivery, and operations teams to ensure smooth project execution post-deal closure.Pipeline Management:
Maintain accurate sales forecasts, dashboards, and CRM hygiene.Thought Leadership:
Represent the organization at Smart City SPVs, urban innovation forums, and digital governance events.Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience:
8–15 years in B2G / PSU / ULB sales
, with at least 3+ years in technology-driven solutions
(IT, IoT, SaaS, or system integration).Demonstrated success in closing at least 2 large government tech projects in the last 24 months
.Expertise:
Deep understanding of government procurement cycles, RFPs, and e-tendering systems.Familiarity with Smart City, urban governance, or municipal technology domains.Strong stakeholder connects across municipal and state-level decision-makers (Western India network preferred).Backgrounds Considered:
GovTech / Smart City solution providers (L&T Smart World, NEC, Honeywell, Bosch, Schneider, TCS, Wipro, etc.).Senior professionals from Big Four advisory firms with public sector transformation projects.Sales leaders from system integrators or government-focused technology startups.Skills & Attributes:
Proven ability to handle multi-stakeholder, complex government sales cycles.Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills in English and Hindi
.High mobility – willing to travel extensively across India.Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity in public sector projects.Preferred Experience (Nice-to-Have)
Exposure to Smart City SPVs, GIS systems, grievance management, solid waste, or tax platforms
.Understanding of RFID, IoT, GPS-based tracking, and analytics dashboards
.Prior involvement in digital governance or urban infrastructure modernization
