On behalf of our client, we are pleased to recruit Head of Marketing for City Oasis and Wellness, India. Who we are:
We are a well-funded startup, aiming to provide world class luxury wellness services to support successful Indians to continue to lead successful, fulfilling and balanced lives. We will be basing our Indian headquarters in South Delhi. Our three co-founders are Indian and Australian and we are currently engaging new team members to drive the initial startup and then national growth of this business. As a result, we need a high-performing Head of Marketing, who will drive the success of our business through active and responsive marketing and sales strategy, programs and results. The Role:
We are seeking the Head of Marketing (Marketing Leader), who will report directly to the CEO and lead the development and execution of our marketing and sales strategy from startup and our first opening to a national multi-centre scale. This hands-on role requires a resourceful leader to build and manage a small team, oversee external providers, and drive revenue targets in a budget-disciplined and supportive team environment. You will work closely with the CEO (and interim Chief Revenue Officer) and Chief Operations and Customer Officer in bringing the vision of the business to life through every interaction with our clients and potential clients. In the early stages, you may need to perform or oversee subordinate tasks as we grow to ensure we meet our revenue and pre-opening targets. Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the multi-phase marketing strategy (from Positioning to Pre-Opening, to Establishment, and then Maintain) for each centre, to achieve pre-opening and ongoing revenue goals, aligning with the Brand Strategy and Brand Book for consistent messaging, visuals, and tone.
  • Budget Management: Oversee and maintain budgets on a whole of organisation and per centre basis, optimising for economies of scale, reusable content, and ROI.
  • Team Building and Management: Recruit, train, and lead a small team of both internal staff and key suppliers, fostering a collaborative, resourceful, high-performing culture. In early stages, step in for subordinate tasks as and if required.
  • Campaign Execution: Design, develop and lead campaigns including crowdfunding, digital ads, events, influencers, PR, voucher sales, referrals, email marketing, social media contests, community engagement, wellness webinars, seasonal promotions, and testimonials.
  • Phone-Based Sales Oversight: Establish and manage call centre, aligned with Branding for elite customer interactions and to achieve marketing and sales targets.
  • Provider Coordination: Select and manage external providers (e.g. PR Agency, Influencer Marketing Agency, Crowdfunding Specialist, Event Management Agency, Voucher Platform Partner, BPO / Call Centre Provider), ensuring deliverables meet KPIs.
  • In centre guidance: Work with the Chief Operations and Customer Officer and team to ensure brand consistency and maximum revenue opportunities through in-centre performance.
  • Analytics and Optimization: Track KPIs (e.g., bookings, impressions, conversion rates, phone calls, email opens, referral bookings), refine and optimise performance, and report to CEO and executive team on performance and performance improvements.
  • Multi-Centre Scalability: Establish centralise marketing capabilities that can optimise ROI for each centre opening, reusing content (e.g., ad templates, blogs, videos) across geographies to reduce costs and maintain consistency.
  • Brand Consistency: Enforce Branding across all touchpoints (campaigns, centres, phone interactions), ensuring 100% adherence to messaging, visuals, and tone.

Qualifications, Skills and experience you’ll need to be successful:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field; MBA or Masters in Marketing.
  • Experience: 5–7 years in marketing, with 2–3 years in leadership roles, preferably in wellness, hospitality, or luxury consumer brands in India (e.g., Oberoi, VLCC). Hands-on experience in subordinate roles, such as 2–3 years in digital marketing (ads, SEO), content creation (blogs, videos), or CRM operations (Zenoti, HubSpot) is valued.
    • o Experience in startups with small teams (up to 10 people) and multi-city expansions (Delhi-NCR) is highly valued.
    • o Digital Expertise: Track record managing digital campaigns (e.g., Instagram ads, SEO) and leveraging websites for credibility, traffic and promotions.
    • o Scalability: Experience in centralised marketing for cost efficiency and with scalable marketing for multi-location businesses, including reusable content and geography-specific adaptations.
    • o Certifications: Google Analytics, HubSpot, Google Ads, or project management (e.g., PMP); SEO certifications (e.g., Moz) is a plus for optional digital skills.
  • Demonstrated experience is highly valued in:
    • o Building a brand through translation of the brand vision and strategy into the experience of those who engage with our digital and physical presence.
    • o Delivering tangible marketing and sales results across a range of methods and mediums including physical media, digital media, social media, content media, influencers, crowdfunding campaigns, inbound and outbound call centre activities, events and community building and engagement.
    • o Working as part of an international senior executive team, to build collaboration and company outcomes.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with wellness trends (ayurveda, float therapy, infrared, aromatherapy) to align campaigns with market demands.
  • Skills in:
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex topics, inspire and motivate others to perform and negotiate successful outcomes, co-ordinate with executive peers, and report to CEO, which benefit company success.
    • Maintaining strong values and integrity to support building successful company values and culture.
    • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to be resourceful, and work independently and as part of a team as the team builds and evolves.
    • Strategic Planning: Ability to design multi-phase marketing strategies aligned with revenue and brand goals, including campaign integration and phone system oversight.
    • Budget Management: Proficiency in allocating and optimizing limited budgets for ROI, with skills in cost-effective provider selection and reusable content strategies.
    • Team Leadership: Experience managing small teams, fostering collaboration, and stepping in for subordinate roles (e.g., digital ads, content creation, CRM management) in resource-constrained startups.
    • Data Analysis: Strong analytical skills to track KPIs, interpret data, and adjust campaigns, using tools like Google Analytics, our in-centre operations software (likely Zenotti), and call centre tools.
    • Digital Marketing Knowledge: Understanding of digital channels (Instagram/Meta, Google, LinkedIn) to guide specialists and oversee campaign integrations and performance management.
  • Resourcefulness: Ability to handle early-stage constraints, including performing digital marketing, content creation, or CRM tasks if hiring is delayed. If funding limits team hires, capability to run PPC campaigns (Google Ads certification), create content (Adobe Suite proficiency), manage CRM (Zenoti experience), or coordinate providers (vendor negotiation skills).
  • Language: Fluency in English; plus Hindi or regional languages advantageous for local engagement.
  • A desire to be part of a small but growing organisation in the wellness sector, supporting India’s success through maximising the wellness of its people.

What we can offer:
  • Salary Range: ₹20–30 lakh/year (AU$36,700–55,000), with performance bonuses (5-10%) for hitting revenue targets.
