Role Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

● Lead schematic design and PCB layout review for complex multi-layer boards (e.g., 4-layer, 6-layer, flex PCBs) for telecommunication, IoT, and medical devices. 

● Perform comprehensive component selection, validation, and lifecycle management to ensure optimal performance, cost-effectiveness, and availability. 

● Design and integrate circuits involving various SoCs, DDR, Flash memory, and Wi-Fi chipsets. 

● Work extensively with interfaces such as UART, I2C, SPI, RS232, RS485, USB, m.2, and mPCIe. 

● Lead hardware development projects from conceptualization to delivery, effectively managing cross-functional teams. 

● Prepare Product Requirement Documents (PRD), project proposals, time planning, test documents, and comprehensive project documentation. 

● Interact with clients to understand technical requirements, address challenges, and ensure smooth end-to-end project execution. 

● Conduct Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (FMEA) to identify and mitigate potential design and process risks. 

● Bring up new boards and collaborate closely with firmware engineers to ensure seamless hardware-firmware integration. 

● Perform hands-on circuit debugging and system integration using advanced lab equipment such as Digital Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, Power Supplies, Function Generators, and Multimeters. 

● Conduct battery testing and power supply performance analysis. 

● Develop and execute detailed test plans for hardware modules and integrated systems. 

● Coordinate with PCB vendors and component suppliers to ensure design quality, cost-efficiency, and timely delivery. 

● Support procurement activities by providing accurate and detailed technical 

specifications. 

● Create and maintain design documentation, test reports, and Bill of Materials (BOM) management. 

● Actively participate in design reviews, technical discussions, and cross-functional coordination meetings. 

● Stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in hardware design, PCB manufacturing, and relevant industry standards. 

● Demonstrate strong team-leading capabilities and be open to taking up leadership responsibilities when required. 

Qualifications & Skills:

● Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or a related field. 

● Experience: 

○ 6 - 7 years of hands-on experience in hardware design, development, and 

system integration, preferably in product development. 

○ Proven experience in leading hardware projects and managing 

cross-functional teams. 

● Technical Proficiency: 

○ Strong expertise in Schematic Design, PCB Layout Review, Circuit 

Debugging, Component Selection, and BOM Management. 

○ In-depth knowledge of microprocessors, SoCs, DDR, Flash memory, and 

Wi-Fi Chipsets. 

○ Proficiency with various communication and interface protocols (UART, I2C, 

SPI, RS232, RS485, USB, m.2, mPCIe). 

○ Experience with multi-layer PCB designs (e.g., 4-layer, 6-layer, flex PCBs). 

○ Hands-on experience with relevant equipment: Digital Oscilloscopes, 

Regulated Power Supplies, Function Generators, Multimeters, Soldering 

Stations, Hot Air Guns, and 32-Channel Logic Analyzers. 

○ Familiarity with Signal Integrity and Power Integrity Analysis concepts. 

● Design Tools: Proficiency in one or more of the following: OrCAD Capture CIS, 

Allegro PCB Editor, KiCAD, Altium & Altium 365 viewer, LTspice, Gerber Viewer, 

ECAD. 

● Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail, capable of diagnosing complex hardware failures. 

● Collaboration & Communication: Strong communication skills for client interaction, vendor management, and cross-functional coordination. 

● Project Management: Solid understanding of project planning, scheduling, and product lifecycle management.
