Role Description:


Finance Controller


Key Responsibility Areas:


Supervision of Accounts

  • Oversee the complete accounting function ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable accounting standards (Ind AS/IFRS/GAAP).
  • Monitor day-to-day accounting activities including payables, receivables, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.

Monthly Financial Reporting

  • Prepare and analyze monthly Profit & Loss (P&L) statements with accurate classification of revenue and expenditure.
  • Provide financial insights to leadership for timely and informed decision-making.

Quarterly Closure & Financial Statements

  • Lead the quarterly closing process and prepare financial statements including Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement.
  • Ensure adherence to statutory and internal reporting requirements.

Audit Management

  • Manage statutory and tax audits, ensuring timely and smooth execution without adverse remarks.
  • Coordinate with auditors and consultants for planning, documentation, and closure of audits.

Internal & Concurrent Audits

  • Supervise internal and concurrent audits, ensuring robust controls and timely implementation of audit recommendations.
  • Address audit observations proactively to prevent recurrence.

Tax Compliance (Direct & Indirect)

  • Ensure compliance with Direct Tax laws (TDS, Advance Tax, returns, assessments).
  • Ensure timely and accurate GST filings, reconciliations, and resolution of notices/litigations.

Controls & Process Improvement

  • Strengthen internal financial controls and develop standard operating procedures.
  • Drive process automation and accounting workflow improvements using SAP or equivalent ERP systems.

Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Collaborate with departments such as Procurement, Operations, HR, and Legal for budgeting, planning, and financial execution.


Required Skills & Qualifications


Education:

Master’s degree (MBA Finance) preferred. Candidates with strong relevant exposure in financial management will also be considered.

Experience:

6–8 years of experience

Technical Skills:

  • Excellent command of MS Excel and PowerPoint for financial modeling and presentations.
  • Exposure to SAP or other ERP systems is preferred but not mandatory.

Financial Acumen & Analytical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of corporate finance, risk management, and stakeholder reporting.
  • Proven ability to interpret complex financial data and translate it into actionable insights.

Leadership & Execution:

  • Ability to lead financial teams, handle cross-functional collaboration, and manage high-stakes financial decisions.
  • Self-driven and reliable, with strong attention to compliance, accuracy, and deadlines.
