Job TitleData Analyst – Logistics & Road Transport Location Pimpri Chinchwad Reporting To Operations Head / Finance Head / Business Analytics Lead Job SummaryThe Data Analyst will be responsible for collecting, analysing, and interpreting logistics and transport data to improve operational efficiency, cost control, and decision-making. The role focuses on route performance, vehicle utilisation, freight cost analysis, fuel efficiency, billing accuracy, and MIS reporting for road transport operations. Key Responsibilities1. Data Collection & ValidationCollect operational, billing, and fleet data from multiple sources (ERP, Tally, Excel, GPS, FASTag, fuel cards). Clean, validate, and standardise data for accurate analysis. Ensure data consistency across operations, finance, and billing teams. 2. Logistics & Transport AnalyticsAnalyse route-wise, vehicle-wise, and customer-wise performance. Track trip profitability including: Freight revenue Diesel cost Toll / FASTag charges Driver advance & other trip expenses Identify loss-making routes, idle vehicles, and cost leakages. Monitor fuel efficiency (km/l) and deviations. 3. MIS & ReportingPrepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports: Route-wise P&L Vehicle utilisation & turnaround time Diesel and toll analysis Billing vs actual cost comparison Design dashboards for management review. Support audits and management presentations with data insights. 4. Billing & Revenue SupportAssist billing and finance teams by validating: Freight rates vs agreements POD-based billing data Revenue leakage or billing errors Analyse receivables ageing and customer payment trends. 5. Process Improvement & AutomationSuggest data-driven improvements to reduce cost and improve efficiency. Automate recurring reports using Excel, Power BI, or similar tools. Work with IT/ERP teams to improve data capture and reporting structure. Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in: Statistics / Mathematics / Economics / Engineering / Commerce Certification in Data Analytics / Power BI / Advanced Excel – Preferred Experience2–6 years of experience as a Data Analyst Experience in logistics, transport, supply chain, or fleet operations preferred Freshers with strong analytical skills may be considered for junior roles Technical SkillsAdvanced MS Excel (Pivot tables, Power Query, formulas) Power BI / Tableau (preferred) SQL (basic to intermediate – preferred) Understanding of logistics KPIs and transport costing Experience with ERP / TMS / GPS data is a plus Behavioural & Soft SkillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills Attention to detail and data accuracy Ability to explain complex data in simple terms Good coordination with operations and finance teams Ability to work under deadlines Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Accuracy and timeliness of MIS reports Identification of cost-saving opportunities Reduction in loss-making routes Improvement in vehicle utilisation and fuel efficiency Quality of insights provided to management Salary & BenefitsSalary: As per experience and skill level
