Job SummaryThe Accounts Manager will be responsible for managing end-to-end accounting, financial controls, compliance, and cost monitoring for road transport and logistics operations. The role requires strong knowledge of transport billing, GST, vendor payments, diesel expenses, fleet-related costs, and MIS reporting. Key Responsibilities1. Accounting & Financial ManagementMaintain complete books of accounts (day-to-day entries, ledgers, reconciliations). Ensure accurate accounting of freight revenue, trip-wise billing, and customer invoices. Monitor profitability route-wise, vehicle-wise, and customer-wise. Handle monthly closing, P&L, and balance sheet preparation. 2. Logistics & Transport BillingOversee freight billing, POD tracking, and customer invoicing. Ensure rate accuracy as per contracts and agreements. Coordinate with operations team for trip completion and billing approval. Track outstanding receivables and follow up for timely collections. 3. Vendor & Fleet Expense ControlManage vendor payments (transporters, drivers, fleet owners). Verify diesel bills, fuel cards, FASTag statements, toll charges, and advances. Control vehicle-related expenses: maintenance, tyres, insurance, permits, and repairs. Reconcile driver advances and trip settlements. 4. GST & Statutory ComplianceHandle GST compliance including: GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, ITC reconciliation GST on freight, RCM, and transporter payments Coordinate with auditors and consultants. Ensure timely TDS deductions and filings. Manage statutory audits and assessments. 5. MIS & ReportingPrepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports: Route-wise P&L Customer-wise revenue Vehicle-wise cost analysis Diesel and toll expense reports Provide financial insights to management for decision-making. Support budgeting and cost optimization initiatives. 6. Team & Process ManagementSupervise accounts executives and billing staff. Implement internal controls and SOPs. Improve accounting processes through automation and controls. Coordinate with operations, HR, and compliance teams. Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com) – Mandatory CA Inter / M.Com / MBA Finance – Preferred Experience5–10 years of experience in accounts/finance Minimum 3 years in logistics, road transport, or fleet operations Hands-on experience in GST and transport billing is mandatory Skills & CompetenciesStrong knowledge of logistics accounting and transport costing Proficiency in Tally / ERP / Excel (advanced level) Excellent analytical and reconciliation skills Strong coordination and communication abilities Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Accuracy of billing and accounting Timely GST and statutory compliance Reduction in outstanding receivables Control over fleet and diesel costs Quality and timeliness of MIS reports Salary & BenefitsSalary: As per industry standards and experience Benefits: PF, ESI, incentives (if applicable)
