Pure Earth is a leading global environmental health nonprofit organization dedicated to saving and improving lives and protecting the planet by reducing disease-causing pollution and cleaning up toxic hot spots in low- and middle-income countries. Since its inception in 1999, Pure Earth and its field teams have completed more than 120 projects in 27 countries with pragmatic, cost-effective solutions. Pure Earth prioritizes actions that protect the developing brains and bodies of children and pregnant women living in toxic hot spots with a specific emphasis on lead and mercury exposure. Partnering with governments, communities, and industry leaders, Pure Earth aims to elevate pollution as a global priority, create sustainable change, and support a healthier future.

The Country Director, India reports to the Regional Program Director at Pure Earth Headquarters and supervises the work of all country staff, consultants, and contractors.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Country Director has overall responsibility for the development and leadership of Pure Earth’s activities in-country, managing its growth, relationships and impact. This is achieved through the development and implementation of the Country strategy that is aligned with Pure Earth’s mission, vision and global strategy. The Country Director, along with their team and Pure Earth Headquarters, ensures that quality and accountability to all programmatic stakeholders is achieved. The Country Director will be focused on influencing government, donors, and other stakeholders as well as helping to establish Pure Earth operations in new states in India.
Success in this position requires an individual with exemplary demonstrated leadership abilities who uses strong communications and interpersonal skills effectively, both internally and externally. The Country Director is expected to develop networks, build partnerships, and grow and diversify funding. S/he is directly responsible for the overall coordination of the country team; hiring, supervising and coaching staff; leading teams to identify, design and deliver high-quality, impactful programs; ensuring efficient stewardship of resources for results, compliance, and focused, timely reporting; and oversight of finance and operations in-country.

PAY TRANSPARENCY:
This is a full-time position based in India with a compensation range $28,000-$85,000 (L5).
