We are an established B2B manufacturing company setting up our D2C division. We are looking for a hands-on Brand Manager who can act as the Leader of this division. This role is ideal for someone entrepreneurial, detail-oriented, and excited to build a new category in a lean company environment, bridging the gap between creative strategy and business profitability.
Key Responsibilities
1. Daily & Weekly Responsibilities
Conduct daily standups with the Social Media Leads, Growth, and Marketing to set priorities.
Hire and manage freelancers across social media, data, and marketing whenever bandwidth gaps appear, ensuring quality output and on-time delivery.
Review daily ad performance (Spend, ROAS, CAC) and make quick decisions to scale or kill campaigns.
Approve all creative assets (Reels, ad graphics, captions) to ensure the "Helpful Expert" tone is maintained.
Report every aspect of decision taken to the CEO’s.
Update and circulate the Weekly D2C Scorecard (Sales vs Target, Ad Efficiency, Inventory Health).
2. Monthly Deliverables
Prepare the Monthly Statement for the D2C division (Revenue, COGS, Ad Spend, Shipping).
Plan the Sales & Campaign Calendar for the upcoming month (e.g., "Monsoon Prep," "Diwali Cleaning").
Run trend analysis on competitor pricing, Amazon best-sellers, and new market offers.
Identify inefficiencies in the funnel (e.g., high shipping costs, low add-on attachment rate) and suggest action plans.
Conduct monthly reviews with external freelancers (Packaging, Web Dev, etc.) to ensure projects remain on timeline and budget.
Provide inventory forecasting reports to the B2B factory based on sales velocity to prevent stockouts.
3. Cross-Department Collaboration
Work with Sales Team to define audience personas and write high-converting ad hooks.
Work with Operations to monitor stock levels, inventory turnover, supplier timelines.
Train Team members in correct data entry practices to avoid errors.
4. Brand Operations & Process Building
Use tools (like Shopify/Klaviyo) to automate review collection and social proof gathering.
Create and document the "Ilan Playbook" (Visual style, Tone of Voice, Do's & Don'ts).
Build scripts and SOPs for Customer Support to handle technical queries (installation, durability) confidently.
Document processes for launching new products (photoshoot guidelines, listing checklist).
5. Strategic Contributions
Provide insights for category building: How to move Turf into a commercial product.
Develop pricing strategies and bundle offers (e.g., Turf + Cutter + Tape) to increase Average Order Value.
Benchmark D2C performance against industry standards and competitors.
Create management-ready presentations (Quarterly Business Review) on division growth.
Support management in budgeting and long-term D2C roadmap planning.
In a lean D2C startup, the Brand Manager will be:
The Leader – Responsible for the division's profitability, not just "likes" and "logos."
The Trust Guardian – Ensuring every piece of content makes the customer feel safe to buy a technical product online.
The Project Manager – Managing timelines for agencies, shoots, and product launches.
The Copy Chief – Writing the high-stakes text (Ad Headlines, Email Subject Lines, Website Hero Copy).
The Friction Hunter – Finding why people almost buy but don't (e.g., shipping cost too high, confusing installation) and fixing it.
The Category Builder – Developing the strategy to make Turf a household essential in India.
