Who we are: We are a start-up based out of Bengaluru & Delhi NCR. We are engaged in the development of next-generation missions and technologies (NGM&T) for future warfare needs of the Indian Defense forces. It is undertaking research towards enhancing persistence and autonomy for unmanned vehicles and robotic swarms. Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and results-driven Warehouse Manager to oversee the operations of our manufacturing plant. This is a senior management position, responsible for managing an entire warehouse facility with an inventory of INR 100 Crore, ensuring seamless daily operations, and leading a team to achieve operational excellence. As the Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of goods, as well as maintaining high standards of safety, inventory accuracy, and process optimization. You will also play a key role in managing a team of warehouse staff, ensuring optimal performance, and creating a positive and productive work environment. Key Responsibilities: Warehouse Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently, accurately, and in a timely manner. Manage the entire inventory management process, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and distribution of products. Develop and enforce operational policies and procedures to ensure the smooth functioning of the warehouse. Ensure proper inventory control, minimize stock discrepancies, and maintain accurate records of inventory levels. Coordinate with other departments (manufacturing, procurement, and logistics) to ensure timely stock availability and distribution. Team Management: Lead, mentor, and supervise a diverse team of warehouse staff, including supervisors, forklift operators, inventory clerks, and laborers. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing training to enhance team skills and productivity. Set clear goals and performance targets for team members, ensuring high standards of work and achieving key performance indicators (KPIs). Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, encouraging teamwork, open communication, and continuous improvement. Warehouse Safety and Compliance: Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and industry regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees. Implement and monitor health & safety standards, conduct regular safety audits, and ensure all team members are adequately trained in warehouse safety procedures. Ensure proper storage and handling of hazardous materials and oversee compliance with environmental and regulatory standards. Investigate and resolve any safety or compliance incidents promptly. Inventory and Supply Chain Management: Monitor stock levels and reorder materials or products as needed, in alignment with production schedules and customer demands. Implement and manage inventory tracking systems (e.g., RFID, barcode) to optimize stock accuracy and reduce shrinkage. Enable standard work for cycle count process to have highest level of inventory accuracy. Collaborate with supply chain teams to ensure inventory is aligned with production requirements and optimize storage space within the warehouse. Develop strategies for efficient space management and layout planning to improve operational flow and minimize delays. Measurement & Improvement Prepare and maintain detailed reports on inventory levels, warehouse activities, team performance, and safety audits. Generate periodic management reports with insights on performance metrics, inventory trends, and operational bottlenecks. Review , measure & improve warehouse KPIs such as order fulfillment time, pick accuracy, on-time delivery , Quarantine inventory ageing & Stock accuracy. Budget Management: Assist in preparing the warehouse operations budget, monitoring expenses, and ensuring operations are within budget. Identify areas of cost reduction and process improvements to increase warehouse efficiency without compromising on quality. Qualifications and Skills: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). Experience: At least 12-15 years of experience in warehouse management, with a minimum of 3-5 years in a leadership role managing large teams and large-scale warehouse operations (INR 100 Crore+) Technical Skills: Proficient in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, and Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of Inventory Control: Strong understanding of inventory management techniques, stock control procedures, and logistics operations. Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate a large team to achieve organizational goals and maintain high operational standards. Safety Compliance: In-depth knowledge of warehouse safety regulations, OSHA standards, and best practices in material handling. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous process improvement. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
