Role Overview

Launch Ventures is seeking a talented Software Engineering Team Lead to join our growing engineering organization. In this role you will report to the Engineering Manager – Software Service Delivery and lead a high‐performing, cross‐functional team that delivers mission‐critical software for a diverse portfolio of clients.

the Software Engineering Team Lead, you will:

• Own the end‐to‐end execution of features, releases, and client deliverables.
  

• Translate architecture, technical direction, and delivery strategies from the Engineering Manager into clear, actionable engineering plans.
  

• Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and elevate the overall engineering maturity of the team.
  

• Ensure rigorous coding standards, test coverage, CI/CD pipelines, and operational readiness.
  

• Partner with product managers, designers, DevOps, and stakeholders to guarantee alignment and timely delivery.
  

• This is a hands‐on leadership position that blends technical depth with people‐building skills, offering a clear path toward senior engineering or management roles.
  

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a cross‐functional team (full‐stack, backend, frontend, QA, DevOps) to deliver high‐quality software on schedule.
  

• Drive Agile ceremonies – sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand‐ups, and retrospectives – to maintain predictable delivery cadence.
  

• Own feature delivery from concept through production, ensuring compliance with SLAs, security standards, and performance targets.
  

• Mentor and coach engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and technical workshops; foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  

• Collaborate with product, design, and stakeholder groups to translate vague requirements into concrete engineering tasks and reliable roadmaps.
  

• Troubleshoot production incidents, lead root‐cause analysis, and guide the team in implementing robust fixes and preventive measures.
  

• Coordinate with horizontal teams (Infrastructure, DevOps, Integration, Data, QA) to guarantee seamless end‐to‐end service delivery.
  

• Champion best practices in CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, logging, and scalability; continuously evaluate and improve architecture.

Experience

6–10 years of professional software engineering experience, including 1–3 years leading a small‐to‐mid‐size engineering team.

Technical Expertise

• Strong hands‐on experience in full‐stack or backend development (Node.js, Python, Java, Go, etc.)
  

• Proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), APIs, micro‐services, serverless architectures, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  

• Deep understanding of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, logging, monitoring, and scalability best practices.
  

Leadership & Delivery

• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and raise technical maturity.
  

• Solid Agile delivery background, comfortable driving sprint planning and backlog grooming. Excellent communication skills; able to interact with clients and senior stakeholders when needed.
  

Problem Solving

Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills; ability to translate complex technical issues into actionable solutions.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands‐on experience with AI/ML frameworks or integrating AI services into production systems.

• Experience working on regulated domains (finance, healthcare, data‐privacy) or large‐scale enterprise platforms (ERP, CRM).
  

• Proficiency with container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker Swarm) and observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
  

• Prior exposure to serverless platforms (AWS Lambda, Google Cloud Functions) and event‐driven architectures.
