The Role
We are looking for a hands-on Tax Manager to oversee core tax compliance processes, including indirect tax filings, transfer pricing, reconciliations, and tax provision support. This role will support and review work performed by junior staff, coordinate with external advisors, and partner with Norstella’s global finance and accounting teams to ensure timely and accurate tax deliverables across multiple jurisdictions.This is a remote role, and the candidate must be based in India.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the preparation and review of corporate tax returns and workpapers for international entities.
- Coordinate monthly and quarterly tax provisions under US GAAP and IFRS, including review of deferred tax computations and disclosures.
- Oversee VAT/GST and Sales & Use Tax compliance processes for jurisdictions including India, UK, and EU.
- Support and review transfer pricing documentation, including local files, intercompany transactions, and financial schedules.
- Manage tax account reconciliations and GL mapping; ensure accuracy of balances and timely follow-ups.
- Review external advisor deliverables (returns, memos, reports) and provide comments before finalization.
- Assist in managing tax inquiries, audits, and controversy matters in coordination with global tax and legal teams.
- Implement and maintain tax compliance trackers and documentation libraries (tax-exempt certificates, W8s, residency certificates, etc.).
- Drive continuous improvement in processes, controls, and automation of routine tasks.
Qualifications
- Qualified Accountant/Tax Advisor (CA, ACA, CTA, or equivalent)
- Five to eight years of combined experience in a public accounting firm, corporate tax department of a multinational company, or a combination of both.
- Experience with VAT/GST regimes in the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Australia, India, and South Africa is preferred (more jurisdictions may be added as the business grows).
- Strong experience in corporate tax compliance and tax accounting, including working with current and deferred taxes.
- International tax exposure is a plus.
- Proficiency with software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and OneDrive. Experience with NetSuite is a plus.
