Job Purpose

The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for planning, implementing, and controlling end-to-end supply chain operations within the textile value chain, ensuring timely procurement, optimal inventory levels, efficient production support, and on-time delivery while minimising cost and maximising efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Supply Chain Planning & Execution

• Develop and manage end-to-end supply chain strategies covering raw material procurement, production planning, inventory management, logistics, and distribution.
• Align supply chain plans with sales forecasts, production schedules, and business objectives.
• Ensure smooth coordination between procurement, production, warehousing, and dispatch teams.

Procurement & Vendor Management

• Manage sourcing of textile raw materials (yarn, fabric, dyes, chemicals, accessories, trims, etc.).
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, lead times, and payment terms to achieve cost optimisation.
• Evaluate vendor performance and ensure compliance with quality and delivery standards.

Inventory & Warehouse Management

• Monitor inventory levels to avoid stock-outs or excess inventory.
• Implement inventory control systems and best practices (FIFO, JIT, ABC analysis).
• Oversee warehouse operations, storage conditions, and material handling efficiency.

Production & Operations Support

• Work closely with production and merchandising teams to ensure material availability as per production plans.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks that could impact production timelines.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.

Logistics & Distribution

• Manage domestic and/or international logistics, including transportation, freight forwarding, and customs coordination (for export-oriented units).
• Ensure on-time dispatch and delivery of finished goods to customers.
• Optimise logistics costs while maintaining service levels.

Cost Control & Process Improvement

• Drive cost-reduction initiatives across procurement, inventory, and logistics.
• Analyse supply chain KPIs and prepare MIS reports for management review.
• Implement ERP/MRP systems and digital tools for supply chain visibility and efficiency.

Compliance & Sustainability

• Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory requirements, and industry standards.
• Support sustainability initiatives related to ethical sourcing, waste reduction, and environmental compliance.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of textile manufacturing processes and supply chain dynamics
• Expertise in procurement, inventory management, and logistics
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Leadership and team management skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or Business Administration
• Master’s degree / MBA (Operations or Supply Chain) preferred

Desired Profile

• 10–15 years of relevant experience in the textile or apparel industry
• Experience in handling complex, multi-location supply chains
• Exposure to export markets is an added advantage
• Proven track record in cost optimization and process improvement

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹1,000,000.00 - ₹2,000,000.00 per year
