Job Title: Showroom Manager
Salary : up to 50000

Job Summary

You will run the showroom as an owner on the floor — accountable for hitting revenue and margin targets, delivering excellent customer experience, coaching the sales team, maintaining display & stock integrity, and ensuring smooth end-to-end order fulfilment from quotation to installation. This is a hands-on, execution-heavy role that requires clear discipline, sales focus and operational control.

Role and Responsibility

Sales and Target Achievement

  • Own monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets and margin targets for the showroom.
  • Create a daily sales plan: target list of customers to call/visit, walk-in conversion goals, and follow-up schedule.
  • Manage lead pipeline: record, follow up and convert leads in CRM/Excel. Maintain lead ageing.
  • Prepare and share quotations within 24 hours of customer visit/requirement capture.
  • Run daily huddles with the sales team to allocate leads, review the pipeline and set action items.
  • Drive upsell/cross-sell (accessories, adhesives, installation services, trims) and maintain average order value targets.
  • Negotiate price/discount within approved limits; escalate larger concessions to Owner/Regional Manager.

Customer Experience and After-sales

  • Greet and qualify walk-ins; manage customer journeys (from sample selection → quotation → sample holding → order).
  • Ensure demo areas and sample boards are clean, functional and accurately labelled.
  • Resolve customer escalations, report management on major complaints.
  • Coordinate installation schedules, site visits and handover checks. Ensure post-installation complaints are followed up on and closed.
  • Maintain a customer feedback log and pursue repeat/referral business.

Team Management And HR

  • Hire, induct and train showroom staff (sales executives, cashiers, helpers). Create role cards and KPIs for each staff member.
  • Create weekly rosters and ensure shift coverage, including weekends and festival periods.
  • Conduct weekly coaching, monthly performance reviews and corrective action where required.
  • Maintain discipline, attendance records, and recommend wage/incentive adjustments to management.

Merchandising, Visual Display and Store Presentation

  • Maintain visual merchandising standards: planogram adherence, sample rotation, lighting, and feature displays for new collections.
  • Execute seasonal and promotional displays (Diwali, wedding season, builder festivals) with timely reprints of price cards and banners.
  • Audit showroom layout monthly and recommend product mix adjustments to management.

Inventory Management

  • Maintain accurate showroom inventory records (samples, display units, demo stock). Conduct a physical stock check weekly and a full reconciliation monthly.
  • Coordinate timely replenishment with the warehouse; manage sample orders and returns.
  • Supervise sample tagging, barcoding and storage standards to reduce damage/wastage.

Billing, Cash and Receivables

  • Ensure accurate invoicing on the POS/billing system and timely collection of advances as per terms.
  • Daily cash-up and handover to accounts; maintain petty cash registers and receipts.
  • Manage payment follow-ups for pending receivables; escalate delinquent accounts per company policy.
  • Ensure correct GST invoicing and collect necessary documents (business PAN, GSTIN when applicable).

Logistics and Order Fulfilment

  • Coordinate with dispatch/warehouse for on-time deliveries; confirm delivery schedule with customer.
  • Manage installation vendor coordination: agree on time, scope, and handover checklist.
  • Track delivery/installation exceptions and ensure root cause is addressed.

Local Business Development and Partnerships

  • Build and maintain a local network of contractors, builders, interior designers, dealers and architects.
  • Organise outreach programs and meet-ups (contractor nights, designer previews) to generate project leads.
  • Maintain a prioritised list of 20–30 high-value local accounts and run structured follow-ups.

Reporting and Administration

  • Submit daily sales summary, weekly pipeline report and monthly performance report to management.
  • Maintain accurate records: sales orders, quotations, customer agreements, KYC and warranty registers.
  • Prepare basic competition and market price updates monthly.

Training And Product Knowledge

  • Conduct fortnightly product & technical sessions (tile specs, installation best practices, grout/advice selection) for showroom staff.
  • Keep the sales team updated on new launches, SKUs, dimensions and pricing changes.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably BBA); MBA or Postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage.

Who Can Apply

  • 3–6 years retail experience, minimum 2 years in a supervisory/managerial role (tiles, sanitaryware, building materials, home improvement or consumer durables preferred).
  • Experience managing a multi-person showroom team (5+ staff).
