As a Senior Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of engineering solutions for Food and Beverage products, focused on subsystems including Sheetmetal enclosures, fluid system, refrigeration/thermodynamic systems. You will drive collaboration with cross-functional teams, leverage technical strategy and best practices, and lead the successful execution of product design projects. In this role, you will further develop technical subject-matter expertise while contributing significantly to MFT’s growth and innovation for India Business.

Mandatory Skills:

  • Min 5 years of experience in complete product development lifecycle — from concept generation, detailed design, DfM/DfA, design validation, prototyping, testing to design release and manufacturing support.
  • Advanced proficiency in CAD modelling tools like Creo, SolidWorks for complex assemblies, tolerance stack-up analysis, and design optimization.
  • 5+ years of experience in depth understanding and applications of GD&T per ANSI Y14.5, tolerance analysis.
  • Proven experience in DFMEA, DVP&R creation, and validation testing of new designs, subassemblies and systems as per applicable standards.
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Desired Skills:

  • Responsible for end-to-end design execution of new products or platforms, including requirements definition, concept development, concept selection, detailed design, design reviews, validation, and design release.
  • Apply system engineering principles to translate customer and stakeholder needs into robust, manufacturable, and cost-effective product designs.
  • Lead concept generation, feasibility studies, and prototype builds to explore innovative solutions for beverage and food equipment systems.
  • Utilize engineering simulations and analytical tools (structural, thermal, flow, or tolerance) to ensure design robustness and performance.
  • Develop detailed models, drawings, and BOMs using modelling tools like Creo, SolidWorks; ensure adherence to PDM/Windchill configuration management practices.
  • Collaborate with industrial design, electrical, controls, and testing teams to integrate multi-disciplinary product features.
  • Drive Design for Manufacturing (DfM), Design for Assembly (DfA), and Design for Cost (DfC) principles throughout the development cycle.
  • Participate in risk assessments and design reviews, ensuring compliance with internal design standards, UL, CE, and other applicable certifications (NSF exposure will be an added advantage).
  • Plan and support prototype testing, validation activities, and design iterations based on results and field feedback.
  • Lead supplier interactions and manufacturing feasibility reviews during development phase.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes relevant to beverage and food dispensing systems.
  • Exposure to thermo-fluid systems, valves, pumps, and pressure vessel components will be a strong advantage.
  • Familiarity with mechatronic systems, Modbus or embedded controls integration, and cross-functional hardware-software collaboration preferred.
  • Experience in creating and executing verification test plans (MDVT/EDVT) and root cause analysis for failures.
  • Strong documentation, technical writing, and presentation skills for global design reviews.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduation in Mechanical Engineering, (or equivalent work experience) with 8 -10 Years (Min 5 years of exp in product development related with beverage & food processing equipment is added advantage)
  • A seasoned, result-oriented engineer who can work independently once given direction, has good rapport with coworkers, can listen, be creative, and is detailed oriented.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail, accuracy, and flexibility to adapt quickly to changing business needs and project priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly, collaborate effectively across functions, and work both independently and in team leadership roles.
  • Maintains a good attitude, persistence, and drive focused on finding a way to accomplish the objectives.
  • Willing to travel (local, regional, international) across innovation center, factory, supplier sites, and testing facilities. (around 30% travel may be involved).
