Role Overview

Senior HR Generalist

Key Responsibilities

1. Industrial Relations (IR) & Compliance

  • Manage day-to-day IR activities and maintain harmonious relationships between management and employees.
  • Handle grievances, disciplinary actions, domestic inquiries, and conflict resolution.
  • Liaise with unions, labor representatives, and government authorities as required.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, statutory regulations, and company policies.
  • Prepare and manage documentation related to compliance audits, labor welfare, and statutory submissions (PF, ESIC, Gratuity, Shops & Establishments Act, etc.).

2. Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment for mid-to-senior-level positions.
  • Partner with hiring managers to forecast manpower requirements.
  • Conduct interviews, shortlist candidates, and manage the selection process.
  • Oversee seamless onboarding, orientation, and induction.

3. Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Act as the point of contact for employee queries, grievances, and workplace concerns.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives, welfare programs, and morale-building activities.
  • Support organizational culture building and change management initiatives.

4. Performance Management

  • Coordinate the annual performance appraisal cycle (goal-setting, mid-year reviews, final evaluations).
  • Guide managers and employees on performance improvement plans and workforce development.

5. HR Operations & Policy Management

  • Manage HR data, MIS reports, and HR dashboards.
  • Oversee attendance, leave management, and payroll coordination with the finance team.
  • Review and update HR policies, SOPs, and employee handbooks.

6. Training & Development

  • Identify skill gaps and arrange training programs.
  • Collaborate with external trainers and internal stakeholders to drive learning initiatives.

7. Strategic HR Support

  • Provide HR insights and recommendations to support business decisions.
  • Participate in workforce planning, succession planning, and organizational redesign.
Requirements

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of labor laws and industrial relations practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Proven expertise in handling disciplinary processes and employee grievance management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in HRMS, MS Office, and HR reporting tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • High integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field; MBA/PGDM in HR preferred.
  • :10 years of progressive experience as an HR Generalist, including significant IR exposure.
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or unionized environments is an advantage.
