Job Description

An HR generalist job description includes managing multiple human resources functions, such as recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and benefits administration. They act as a liaison between employees and management, ensure legal and policy compliance, and are responsible for a wide range of activities to support the organization's human resources needs.

Key responsibilities

  • Talent acquisition: Drafting job descriptions, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and managing the onboarding process.
  • HR policy and compliance: Ensuring the company adheres to labor laws and internal policies, and developing/updating HR handbooks and procedures.
  • Training and development: Orienting new hires and supporting training initiatives for employees.
  • Record keeping: Maintaining employee records and HR data.
  • Employee relations and engagement: Act as a liaison between employees and management, and help resolve conflicts. Develop and implement programs to improve employee engagement and retention.
  • Performance management: Manage performance appraisal systems and provide guidance on performance-related issues.
  • Compensation and benefits: Oversee the design and administration of compensation and benefits packages, including payroll and compliance.
  • Strategy and compliance: Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business goals. Stay up-to-date on labor laws and ensure company policies and procedures are compliant.
  • HR metrics and reporting: Track HR KPIs, analyze data, and provide reports to senior management.
