Our expertise spans business planning, budgeting, forecasting, accounting, financial reporting, and management reporting, enabling our clients to focus on their core business operations.


Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Accountant to manage comprehensive accounting and finance functions for our food & beverage clients in the Gulf region. This role requires a seasoned professional who can work independently while providing guidance to junior team members. The ideal candidate will have solid accounting expertise, strong analytical skills, and proven experience in managing client portfolios in the food & beverage industry.


Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Operations

  • Manage and execute comprehensive day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger management
  • Oversee month-end and year-end closing procedures with minimal supervision
  • Prepare and review complex journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Manage multiple client portfolios and ensure accurate financial record keeping

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards
  • Compile and analyze financial data to create comprehensive management reports
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide detailed explanations for budget deviations
  • Review and validate financial reports prepared by junior team members


Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes for assigned clients
  • Prepare financial models and conduct scenario analysis
  • Support strategic planning initiatives through detailed financial analysis
  • Create ad-hoc reports and analysis as requested by management and clients


Compliance & Quality Control

  • Ensure compliance with Gulf country accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements
  • Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures
  • Coordinate with external auditors and prepare audit documentation
  • Review work performed by junior staff to ensure accuracy and compliance


Required Qualifications

Education & Certification

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field
  • CA Inter qualified or CA (Chartered Accountant) certification preferred
  • Additional certifications in Gulf country accounting standards would be advantageous


Experience

  • 7 plus years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles
  • Strong experience in the food & beverage industry is preferred
  • Previous experience working with Gulf country clients or GCC accounting practices is highly desirable
  • Experience in managing client relationships and junior team members
  • Proven track record of handling complex accounting transactions and financial reporting


Essential Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in ERP accounting software (Microsoft Business Central experience strongly preferred)
  • Expert-level skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Strong ability to interpret, analyze, and present complex financial data
  • Solid knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS) and Gulf country specific regulations
  • Experience with financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting tools

  • Excellent business acumen and ability to provide financial insights
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to manage client relationships
