Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant Manager - Accounting & Finance to lead and manage the complete accounting and finance function for our food & beverage clients in the Gulf region. This role requires a seasoned professional who can take full ownership of financial operations while providing strategic insights to drive business growth. The ideal candidate will combine technical accounting expertise with strong business acumen and exceptional interpersonal skills. Key Responsibilities Financial Management & Reporting Oversee and execute day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger management Compile, analyze, and interpret comprehensive financial statements in accordance with local Gulf country regulations and international financial reporting standards Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for management, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities Develop and present detailed management reports with actionable insights and recommendations Planning & Analysis Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market conditions Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for budget deviations Support strategic business planning initiatives through financial modeling and analysis Create ad-hoc financial reports and analysis as requested by management Compliance & Controls Ensure compliance with IFRS, VAT regulations, and statutory requirements Implement and maintain robust internal controls and accounting procedures Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies as required Monitor and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures Client Relationship Management Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients regarding financial matters Provide strategic financial guidance and business recommendations to clients Maintain strong professional relationships with client management teams Ensure timely delivery of all financial services and reporting requirements Required Qualifications Education & Certification Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field CA Inter qualified or CA (Chartered Accountant) certification preferred Additional certifications in IFRS would be advantageous Experience Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles Proven experience in the food & beverage industry strongly preferred Previous experience working with Gulf country clients or GCC accounting practices is highly desirable Experience in client-facing roles with international businesses Essential Skills & Competencies Technical Skills Advanced proficiency in ERP accounting software (Microsoft Business Central experience strongly preferred) Point of Sale Software experience Expert-level skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) Strong ability to interpret, analyze, and present complex financial data Knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS) and Gulf country specific regulations Experience with financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting tools Professional Skills Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities Strong business acumen with ability to provide strategic insights Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Outstanding interpersonal skills with ability to build and maintain client relationships Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple client portfolios simultaneously Leadership Qualities Demonstrated ability to take ownership and accountability for results Strong decision-making capabilities under pressure Mentoring and team development skills Adaptability to work across different time zones and cultural contexts What We Offer Competitive salary package commensurate with experience Opportunity to work with international clients in the dynamic food & beverage sector Professional development and growth opportunities Collaborative and supportive work environment Exposure to diverse business models and Gulf country markets
