Position Details

Job Title : Team Leader - Sales

Grade: Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager

Location : New Delhi

Qualification : Graduate in any discipline

Reporting to: Business Head

Experience: Proven 5-10 years of field sales in FMCG, Consumer Durables & allied sectors



Role Summary:

The Team Leader – Sales will drive business growth in the assigned territory by achieving sales targets, managing distribution channels, leading a front-line sales team, and executing trade engagement initiatives. The role requires close coordination with regional leadership and offers a chance to shape business strategy. The ideal candidate is a proactive field leader with strong execution skills, distribution expertise, and team management abilities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Exceed sales targets through aggressive sales strategies and meticulous planning.
  • Ensure compliance and optimize cash flow by managing strong payment collections.
  • Expand market share by identifying and leveraging growth opportunities in Reach, Range, and Penetration.
  • Strengthen trade relationships through impactful market engagements and in-depth retailer coverage.
  • Maximize operational efficiency with strategic route and beat planning for market coverage.
  • Enhance field team productivity through performance monitoring, coaching, and best practices.
  • Build a high-performing MSR team through mentoring, development, and a culture of accountability.
  • Amplify brand presence via high-ROI retailer/mechanic meets and local marketing campaigns.
  • Drive consumer engagement through effective scheme rollouts and Premium Point of Sale (POS) visibility.
  • Boost loyalty program participation with value-driven initiatives for retailers and mechanics.
  • Use performance analytics to inform strategic decisions and improve territory outcomes.

The ideal candidate should have strong market knowledge, team leadership skills, and execution discipline, with the ability to drive daily sales operations. Proficiency in communication, negotiation, and data-driven decision-making, along with a customer-focused mindset, is essential to build strong trade relationships and deliver results.
