Job Title: Purchase Manager – Cosmetics Industry

Reporting To: Director / Head – Operations

Job Summary:

The Purchase Manager will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring raw materials, packaging materials, and third-party finished goods required for the cosmetics business. The role ensures cost-effectiveness, quality compliance, vendor management, and timely availability of supplies to support production and market demand.

Key Responsibilities:

• Procurement & Sourcing
• Identify and source raw materials (active ingredients, fragrances, essential oils, chemicals) and packaging materials (bottles, jars, pumps, cartons, labels) required for cosmetics production.
• Develop and maintain vendor database (domestic & international suppliers).
• Negotiate contracts, prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
• Ensure procurement complies with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Vendor Management
• Evaluate and approve new vendors based on capability, quality, reliability, and compliance.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure consistent quality and timely supply.
• Conduct periodic supplier audits and performance reviews.
• Inventory & Supply Chain Management
• Plan and forecast material requirements in coordination with production and R&D teams.
• Maintain optimum inventory levels to prevent stockouts or excess holding.
• Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams for smooth material flow.
• Cost Control & Budgeting
• Track and control procurement costs to meet budget targets.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
• Monitor market trends, pricing, and availability of raw materials.
• Regulatory & Quality Compliance
• Ensure all purchased materials meet cosmetic industry regulatory standards (FDA, GMP, BIS, etc.).
• Work closely with QA/QC teams for material testing and approvals.
• Cross-functional Collaboration
• Collaborate with R&D for sourcing new ingredients and packaging innovations.
• Support marketing and product development teams with timely procurement for launches.
• Coordinate with finance for vendor payments and reconciliations.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of cosmetic raw materials, packaging trends, and supply chain operations.
• Familiarity with import/export processes and international trade.
• Excellent vendor management and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in procurement/purchasing, preferably in the cosmetics, FMCG, or pharmaceutical industry.
• Understanding of cosmetic regulations and quality standards.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
