Job Brief

We are looking for a diligent and results-driven Purchase Executive to manage and execute the procurement of raw materials (especially sheet metal/steel), components, tooling, and indirect materials required for our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in ensuring the timely, cost-effective, and quality acquisition of goods and services, contributing directly to our operational efficiency and cost control objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sourcing and Vendor Management:

  • Identify, evaluate, and select new suppliers/vendors for raw materials, components, MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) items, and services.
  • Conduct market research to stay informed about price trends, new products, and changes in the supply chain related to the automotive component industry.
  • Maintain and nurture strong, long-term relationships with existing and new suppliers.
  • Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery timelines, and cost, and work with vendors on continuous improvement initiatives.

2. Procurement Operations:

  • Process Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and generate accurate Purchase Orders (POs) in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with company policies and established budgets.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to achieve the best value while maintaining quality and service.
  • Coordinate with the Production and Quality teams to forecast demand for materials and ensure sufficient stock levels to prevent production shortages (Just-In-Time planning).
  • Follow up on open orders, expedite deliveries when necessary, and resolve any discrepancies related to quantity or quality of received goods.

3. Cost Control and Documentation:

  • Monitor and track procurement spending against budget, actively seeking out cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
  • Prepare and maintain meticulous records of all procurement activities, including purchase orders, contracts, supplier correspondence, and delivery documentation.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal policies, legal requirements, and industry-specific regulations (e.g., IATF 16949 standards).

4. Inter-departmental Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the Inventory Control team to manage optimal inventory levels.
  • Liaise with the Finance department for timely invoice processing and payment reconciliation.
  • Collaborate with the Quality team on vendor audits and material quality specifications.

Requirements and Skills

  • Education: DME or BE (Mechanical)
  • Experience: Proven 2-4 years of experience as a Purchase Executive, Procurement Executive, or similar role, preferably within the Automotive/Sheet Metal (Press shop, fabrication) Manufacturing industry.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supply chain management principles, and inventory control.
  • Proficiency in using ERP systems (e.g. Tally) and MS Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Familiarity with quality standards like IATF 16949 will be an added advantage.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Excellent negotiation and communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of detail orientation and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and meet strict deadlines.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
