Job Description: Production and Planning Engineer

1. Job Summary

The Production and Planning Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the entire manufacturing process, from raw material planning to final machinery assembly and testing, specifically focusing on industrial filling and packaging equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles, production scheduling, quality control, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and the Factories Act.

2. Key Roles and Responsibilities

A. Production Planning and Scheduling

• Production Scheduling: Develop and manage detailed production schedules, capacity plans, and material requirement plans (MRP) to meet sales targets and delivery timelines for various filling and packaging machines.
• Workflow Optimization: Analyze current production processes to identify bottlenecks and implement continuous improvement (Kaizen) strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle time, and minimize waste.
• Resource Allocation: Effectively allocate manpower, machinery, and other resources to maximize output and maintain a smooth flow of operations.

B. Production Execution and Supervision

• Shop Floor Management: Oversee day-to-day production activities on the shop floor, ensuring adherence to quality standards, engineering drawings, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Supervision: Provide technical guidance and supervision to technicians, operators, and assembly staff.
• Inventory Control: Coordinate with the Procurement and Stores departments for timely availability of raw materials, components, and spares, and manage work-in-progress (WIP) inventory.

C. Quality and Compliance

• Quality Assurance: Implement and monitor in-process and final quality checks to ensure the manufactured machinery meets the required specifications, performance parameters, and customer expectations.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate production records, job cards, quality inspection reports, and documentation as required by ISO standards and company policy.
• Safety and Legal Compliance (Factories Act): Strictly ensure that all production activities and the working environment comply with the provisions of the Factories Act, 1948, and Maharashtra Factory Rules. This includes machine safety, working hours regulations, and proper maintenance of safety equipment.

D. Technical Support and Maintenance

• Troubleshooting: Address and resolve production issues, machinery breakdowns, and technical hurdles promptly to prevent delays.
• Equipment Maintenance: Coordinate with the maintenance team to schedule preventive maintenance (PM) for production machinery and jigs/fixtures to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

3. Key Skills and Qualifications

• Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, machining, fabrication, welding, and assembly techniques relevant to industrial machinery, particularly stainless steel (SS) used in filling and packaging.
• Planning Tools: Proficiency in using ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Tally ERP or similar) for production planning and control.
• Drawing Interpretation: Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings (AutoCAD/SolidWorks experience is a plus).
• Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Communication: Effective written and verbal communication skills in English and Marathi (preferred for local coordination).
• Legal Awareness: Foundational knowledge of safety and working condition requirements under the Factories Act, 1948 is essential.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
